Microsoft may finally address one of the biggest issues with Windows 11. The company is announcing a system that will be less intrusive, calmer, and less "sales-oriented" toward its own services. This is a response to years of criticism from users who were fed up with constant suggestions and pop-up proposals.
Microsoft admits: there were too many ads
Windows 11 has evolved over time into something more than just an operating system. It has become a platform that regularly promotes Edge, OneDrive, Microsoft 365, and Copilot. Suggestions in the Start menu, notifications during setup, and various "hints" have started to annoy users. Now Microsoft openly talks about the need to create a "calmer and cleaner system". This is a clear signal that the company has recognized the problem and wants to fix it.
What Will Change in Windows 11
The most important change is simple: the system will try less often to sell something to the user. Fewer promotions in the Start menu and fewer unnecessary notifications are just the beginning. Microsoft is also working on improving performance and simplifying the interface so that everything runs faster and is less distracting. Other changes are also planned, such as possibly removing the requirement to log in to a Microsoft account during installation, the return of the movable taskbar, and better optimization for devices with 8 GB of RAM. The company may also limit the way it integrates AI so that Copilot is not so intrusive.
Microsoft is clearly changing its approach. Instead of pushing more services, it wants to focus on a cleaner and more user-friendly experience. Ads are unlikely to disappear completely, but if there are indeed fewer of them, Windows 11 may finally become a system that doesn’t interfere with work.
