Apple is preparing to launch a new version of its headset – according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the Vision Air will debut in 2027, which is a lighter and noticeably cheaper version of the Vision Pro. The device is expected to be over 40% lighter than the current model, which weighs about 624 g. This means that the Vision Air could weigh less than 450 g – which is less than the average VR headphones available on the market today.
The price will drop by half – about 7150 PLN
Even more intriguing is the price. Vision Pro costs as much as 3499 USD, and according to Kuo Vision Air will be even half as expensive – which is about 1750 USD. That’s still more than an iPhone, but closer to the prices of higher-end MacBook models or the upcoming foldable iPhone, which could open Apple’s path to a much broader audience.
Titanium construction and new battery
Leaks also mention a titanium internal construction that will allow for a lighter device, as well as a thinner casing and a new battery system with a redesigned power module. If these rumors are confirmed, Vision Air could turn out to be what the SE version was for the Apple Watch – a cheaper, yet still premium alternative.
