The premiere of Grand Theft Auto VI is approaching faster and faster, and the topic of price is heating up fans just as much as new plot details. Information has emerged online that may suggest how much we will pay for one of the most anticipated games in history.
Prices from the British store. 90 pounds for the console?
On the Loaded platform, which deals with the sale of digital keys, pre-order offers for GTA 6 have appeared. According to screenshots:
the version for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S was priced at £89.99,
the PC edition was supposed to cost £69.99.
If we convert these amounts to zlotys, we’re talking about approximately 430 PLN for the console version and 340 PLN for PC. This is a level significantly higher than the standard $70 that the AAA market has accustomed us to.
Will GTA 6 Cross the $100 Barrier?
For months, there has been a discussion about whether Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive will decide to raise prices above current standards. Some analysts believe that given the scale of the project, a higher price would be justified. On the other hand, GTA 5 demonstrated that gigantic sales and a model based on additional online revenue can generate billions without the need to drastically hike the price of the base version of the game. An optimal scenario might be a price just below the psychological barrier of $100.
It's worth emphasizing that Loaded is not an official partner of the publisher. Key shops often set initial prices based on forecasts rather than real data from the producer. This means that the stated amounts may only be estimates. At this moment, neither Rockstar nor Take-Two have announced the official price of GTA 6. Differences may also appear depending on the region, platform, and version of the game.
A leak suggests that GTA 6 could be one of the more expensive releases of this generation. 430 PLN for the console version wouldn't be shocking today, but exceeding 100 dollars could spark a storm among players. Until Rockstar provides official information, everything remains in the realm of speculation.
