TCL has plenty to be pleased about, because in this year’s EISA awards the company picked up as many as six honors. Four of them went to TVs, and the other two to audio products. Interestingly, we had already tested most of the winning TVs ourselves. That lets you directly compare EISA’s verdict with our measurement and test results. TCL X11L earned the EISA Statement TV title
The most notable of the award-winning sets is undoubtedly the TCL X11L. The 98-inch flagship received the EISA Statement TV 2026–2027 title, an accolade for designs intended to showcase a manufacturer’s capabilities in the large-screen segment. The model uses SQD Mini LED technology and is equipped with a very advanced local dimming system. TCL claims as many as 20,736 backlight zones and a peak HDR brightness reaching 10,000 nits. It’s also one of the most extreme Mini LED TVs we’ve had the chance to test in our lab. The large screen, very high brightness, and extensive backlighting mean the X11L is by no means a typical living-room TV.
TCL C8L wins the EISA Premium Mini LED TV 2026–2027 award
The second model to be honored is TCL C8L, which won the EISA Premium Mini LED TV 2026–2027 award. It's a TV aimed at people who expect high image quality but don't necessarily want to go for the manufacturer's largest and most expensive flagship. The C8L also uses Mini LED technology and delivers very high HDR brightness. According to the manufacturer, the model can reach up to 5,500 nits of peak brightness. Importantly, TCL C8L also made it to our lab. That allows us to compare the EISA distinction with our own measurements and hands-on testing of the TV.
C7L was recognized for its price-to-performance ratio
Another award-winning TV is TCL C7L, which earned the title EISA Best Buy Mini LED TV 2026–2027. In this case, EISA pointed mainly to the combination of the TV’s capabilities and its price positioning. The C7L is meant to be a more affordable alternative to TCL’s higher-end models while retaining many advanced Mini LED features. The manufacturer claims, among other things, up to 3,000 nits of HDR brightness, 1,152 local dimming zones, and a native 144 Hz refresh rate. It's also a model that we've already had the chance to test thoroughly.
TCL RM9L shows the future of RGB LED TVs
The fourth TV honor went to TCL RM9L. This model won the EISA Premium RGB LED TV 2026-2027 award. The RM9L is particularly interesting for its use of RGB LED technology, which is intended to be the next step in the development of LCD TVs. Instead of the classic white backlight, separate light sources are used for the individual color primaries. TCL is developing this technology as a way to achieve a wider color gamut and even better image control. We haven't had a chance to test this model yet, so we can't yet compare EISA's verdict with our own measurements. However, the RM9L is one of the more intriguing TVs in TCL's lineup this year, and it's definitely worth watching for when it appears in independent reviews.
TCL picked up two more awards for audio equipment
The run of TCL's successes doesn't end with the four award-winning TVs. The manufacturer received two more EISA awards for audio devices. The first went to the TCL Z100 and Z100-SW package, which was named EISA Wireless HT Audio System 2026–2027. The system was designed for wireless home theater and can be expanded with additional components. A single Z100 speaker provides a 1.1.1 configuration and 170 W of power, and the system supports Dolby Atmos FlexConnect. The second award went to the TCL A65K Design Series, which was named EISA Soundbar 2026–2027. The soundbar has a 3.1.2 configuration, supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, and was tuned by Bang & Olufsen.
Has TCL really earned these awards?
This year's EISA awards are particularly strong for TCL, especially in the TV category. The manufacturer received honors for both the extreme 98-inch X11L and the more affordable C8L and C7L models. Then there's the RM9L, which represents a completely different direction in LCD development thanks to its RGB LED backlight. Importantly for our readers, we've already had the chance to test three of the four award-winning TCL TVs. That means you don't have to rely solely on the manufacturer's marketing claims or the EISA verdict. TCL can count this year’s EISA Awards as a particularly successful edition. The manufacturer won six distinctions, four of which went to TVs and two to audio devices. The X11L was named Statement TV, the C8L Premium Mini LED TV, and the C7L Best Buy Mini LED TV. The RM9L, in turn, received the award for the best premium TV with RGB LED backlighting. Interestingly, we’ve already had the chance to test three of these models, so the EISA verdict can be directly compared with our results.
