Philips has launched a new monitor, the 32E3N3800L, aimed primarily at people looking for a large screen for work and multimedia. The device features a 31.5-inch VA panel, 4K resolution and HDR10 support. The biggest surprise may be the price, just 1,399 yuan in China.
4K and high contrast at an affordable price
The Philips 32E3N3800L uses a 31.5-inch VA panel with a resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels and a 60 Hz refresh rate. The manufacturer specifies a 3000:1 contrast ratio, 350 nits of brightness, and a 4 ms GtG response time.
The monitor covers 99.9% of the sRGB color space and supports 10-bit color depth implemented via 8-bit + FRC. It also supports HDR10, although with a brightness of 350 nits you shouldn't expect particularly striking HDR results.
HDMI 2.1 and limited ergonomics
It includes two HDMI 2.1 (TMDS) ports, DisplayPort 1.4, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. It’s worth noting that the HDMI connectors use TMDS signaling, not the full bandwidth of HDMI 2.1. The stand only allows tilt adjustment, but the monitor can be mounted on a VESA 100 x 100 mm mount.
Philips 32E3N3800L is already available in China for 1,399 yuan, about €185. So far the manufacturer has not confirmed the price or release date for Poland.
