Sony officially presented a new version of its unusual cooling gadget. Reon Pocket Pro Plus is a portable "air conditioner" worn under clothing that is designed to cool the body more effectively during heat and daily use.

Sony enhances its portable cooling system

The new model utilizes the Peltier effect, which is a specially cooled electrically plate placed at the back of the neck. Sony explains that this is the area where body cooling is most noticeable due to blood flow close to the surface of the skin. According to the manufacturer, the Reon Pocket Pro Plus offers up to 2 degrees Celsius better cooling compared to the previous generation. The company has also improved the algorithms controlling the temperature, which analyze the surrounding conditions and the temperature of the device itself to regulate the cooling more effectively.

Better fit and up to 10 hours of operation

Sony has retained the distinctive design worn under the shirt at the nape of the neck, but improved the stability of the device on the neck and shoulders. As a result, the equipment is supposed to shift less while walking or moving. An automatic overheating protection has also been added. The package includes a new second-generation Pocket Tag that monitors the temperature and humidity of the environment. The device also works with a mobile app, although many functions operate without the need to use a phone. On a single charge, the Reon Pocket Pro Plus is expected to last up to 10 hours.
