Samsung has been the market leader in televisions for 20 consecutive years!

It is official: there is only one king of the television market, although the crown becomes heavier with each passing year. According to the latest data from the renowned research firm Omdia, Samsung has once again maintained its title as the global leader in television sales. This is a historic moment – the Koreans have ruled the global market for 20 consecutive years.

In 2025 alone, Samsung was responsible for as much as 29.1% of the total value of global television sales. This means that nearly every third zloty (or dollar) spent worldwide on a new receiver went straight to the coffers of the Korean giant. This result is impressive, especially when we consider how much the television world has changed since 2005. Because that was when Samsung first sat on the throne.

Twenty Years on Top

Maintaining a leadership position for two decades is an almost unprecedented feat. Samsung has proven that it can adapt to changes – from the era of bulky LCD TVs, through the LED revolution, to today’s mini-LEDs and QD-OLEDs. A market share of nearly 30% by 2025 shows that customers still prefer premium products with the logo of the Korean manufacturer.

Sour-sweet anniversary

Despite celebrating the 20th anniversary, Samsung cannot rest on its laurels. Although the result of 29.1% is impressive, the victory has a sour-sweet taste. Behind the giant, competition from China is growing with immense strength. It is their aggressive expansion that forces Samsung to make difficult decisions, such as the recently announced closure of the well-deserved factory in Slovak Galanta after 24 years of operation.

Everyone is eagerly awaiting the official presentation of the new line of Samsung televisions for 2026. Will this be the moment of truth when the giant, celebrating 20 years at the top, presents solutions that will set the competition back for another decade?
