Honor – a brand that most people primarily associate with smartphones – has just surprised us with a new device. The company unveiled its first projector, and in quite an unconventional style. The Honor Choice Projector Air is a compact, affordable gadget with a rotating gimbal, AI gesture controls, and… a stylus that allows you to doodle directly on the wall.
Projector that is supposed to be cheap, simple, and a little… creative
Honor is hitting the market with semi-portable projectors at low prices. The Projector Air offers a 1080p image, brightness of 280 CVIA lumens, and a contrast ratio of 2500:1. This is not a device for watching movies in bright midday sunlight – rather, it’s a "for the evening" device, in a darker room. The maximum image diagonal is 160 inches, and the built-in 5 W speaker provides basic sound. On board, we also find:
– Wi-Fi 6
– Bluetooth 5.0
– HDMI
– 1 GB RAM and 32 GB storage
– support for Deepseek AI
– a mobile app and remote control
Gimbal 160° and full automation
The most interesting element of the design is the rotating gimbal – the projector can be raised almost vertically, directing the image to a wall or ceiling. In addition, there is autofocus, keystone correction, automatic image adjustment, and obstacle avoidance – all so that the user does not have to do anything except turn on the device.
AI Gesture Control and Stylus
Two unique additions distinguish Honor Choice from its competitors. First – gesture control, allowing you to navigate through the menu without touching the remote. Second – a stylus, with which you… draw on the displayed image.
This is an obvious reference to the very old Touchjet Pond projector, which tried to do the same thing 10 years ago. The effect was amusing back then, and the limitations were obvious – to draw, you had to stand between the projector and the wall, which means one thing: a shadow falling on the screen. Honor did not solve this problem because it did not opt for a short-throw projector. But let's remember – this is an inexpensive device, and a UST would cost multiple times more.
The price that makes the biggest impression
And here we get to the point: The Honor Choice Projector Air costs only 499 RMB. It's a ridiculously low amount for a projector with a gimbal, AI, and stylus. For now, the device will go on sale in China – it's uncertain if it will appear in Europe. Currency conversion:

Summary – projector for those interested in novelties
Honor does not try to compete with large laser projectors. The Projector Air is meant to be inexpensive, straightforward, and offer new possibilities – especially for those who enjoy playing with technology and do not expect movie-theater quality during the day. However, if you dream of a projector with AI and a stylus for the price of two dinners out – this is definitely one of the most intriguing releases in recent months.
