Changing the brightness of the image or improving the sound on a television often requires navigating through several levels of settings. Google wants to simplify this by integrating Gemini with Google TV. The new features allow users to issue voice commands describing the problem, and the artificial intelligence selects the appropriate settings on its own. For now, the solution is available exclusively on TCL televisions.
Just say what bothers you while watching
The new possibilities of Gemini allow you to control many TV settings without having to search through the menu. Users can request changes to brightness, contrast, volume, or picture mode using simple voice commands. Interestingly, there is no need to know specific settings. Instead, you can simply say that the screen is too dark or the dialogues are barely audible. Gemini will analyze the problem and automatically adjust the appropriate parameters. The assistant can also optimize settings for the content currently being watched or quickly take the user to the correct system menu. This small change can significantly speed up the daily operation of the television.
TCL has exclusive access to a new feature for a limited time
Google has announced that for the first 60 days, the feature will be available exclusively on select TCL TVs running Google TV. The update is currently rolling out to models from the 2025 and 2026 years available in the American market. The list of compatible devices includes, among others, the QM9K, QM7L, RM7L, X11L, QM9L, QM8L, and RM9L series. It is not yet known whether older TCL models will also gain access to the new Gemini capabilities at a later date. The launch of the feature coincides with preparations for the FIFA World Cup 2026. TCL and Google are additionally launching a special information center for the World Cup, where users will find match schedules, results, game highlights, and videos from YouTube.
Google is consistently developing the integration of Gemini with everyday devices. This time, artificial intelligence is making its way to televisions, enabling convenient control of image and sound using natural voice commands. For the first two months, only owners of selected TCL televisions will benefit from the new feature, but later, it should also be available to other manufacturers using Google TV.
