Roku has officially launched its latest devices on the British market: Roku Streaming Stick and Roku Streaming Stick Plus. After the premiere in the USA in April, they can now be purchased at Asda and on Amazon, and in July they will be added to the Argos offer.
These new sticks are exactly what users expected: small, sleek, hassle-free. They fit perfectly into the HDMI port, do not block neighboring inputs, and do not require additional power. On top of that, there's the Roku OS, which provides quick access to all the most important streaming apps and live channels. There are also features like “What to Watch” (i.e., suggestions for the evening) and “Continue Watching”, so you no longer have to wonder where you last left off.
How much does it cost and what do you get?
Roku Streaming Stick – £29.99 ≈ 155 zł– Full HD, voice remote, ideal for starters
Roku Streaming Stick Plus – £39.99 ≈ 205 zł– 4K, HDR, more power for just £10 more
If you want something more powerful:
Roku Streaming Stick 4K – £49.99 ≈ 260 zł– with Dolby Vision HDR
Roku Ultra Box – £69.99 ≈ 360 zł– the fastest device in the lineup, with a backlit remote
Why does it really make a difference? Because ChooseTV gives Poles abroad something more than just television!
Amid all the buzz around new Roku devices, there's one specific reason why this launch holds special significance for us – Poles living abroad. It's called PolBox.TV. It's an app that simply allows us to return to what is familiar, close, and simply… ours.
Imagine sitting with your family in the living room – maybe in London, maybe in Oslo, maybe somewhere even further – and with one click you launch TVP, TVN, Polsat, children's channels, entertainment, sports, and current affairs. PolBox.TV offers over 120 channels in Polish, along with a massive library of over 3000 movies and series. But that's not all – you can also rewind to programs from even two weeks ago, which gives full flexibility in watching what truly interests you, whenever you have the time.
It works very simply. You don't need to assemble anything, fiddle with decoders, or order an antenna. All you need is internet access and one of the Roku devices (even the cheapest one will do). From there, it's just a few steps:
You buy a Roku streaming device
You create a subscription with PolBox.TV on their website
You install the app on Roku
You sit down with some tea and turn on whatever you feel like watching
There are three convenient packages available:
Basic – includes 50 basic channels in Polish
Family – an expanded offer with over 80 channels
Premium – up to 120 channels + full access to the library of movies and series
All of this makes PolBox.TV combined with Roku devices currently one of the most convenient and simplest ways to access Polish television abroad. And it's not just about entertainment. It's about the ability to maintain contact with the language, culture, tradition – and simply with home. It doesn't matter if you live in Berlin, Manchester, Chicago, or Oslo – all you need is internet and a Roku device.
In summary? It's worth it for many!
This year, the equipment was released that simply gets the job done. And thanks to the integration with PolBox.TV, we finally have a way to access Polish television abroad conveniently and with quality – without unnecessary costs and frustration.
If you are Poles living abroad and want to feel closer to home – this could be one of the best decisions you make this year.
