Death Stranding 2 on PC: Premiere tomorrow! New Wilder mode and Ray Tracing

In just 24 hours, on March 19, 2026, Death Stranding 2 will officially land on PC! To celebrate this occasion, the studio has released a new trailer titled "No Rain, No Rainbow," confirming that the PC version is not just a regular port, but also a substantial amount of new content that will also be available on the same day as a free update for PlayStation 5.

Hardcore Mode and VR Training

The most interesting new feature is the mode "to the wilder". If the base game was a walk in the park for you, here Kojima challenges the most persistent. It's an extreme difficulty level where the environment is deadly, and opponents do not forgive mistakes. Importantly, once you set off on this mode, there's no turning back – you must deliver the package to the end.

For those who want to polish their combat skills, a zone titled “Trapped in a Strange Realm” has been added. It's VR training, where you can repeat the most important confrontations of Sam (e.g., those with Neil). By completing them, you will unlock new items, such as unique bandanas. A “chiral cat” (Chiral Feline) will also be introduced to the game, which will visit us in the private room and will be available in photo mode.

Technical "meat"

The transfer of the game to PC is handled by the team at Nixxes Software, so we can be quite confident about the optimization. The game at launch supports practically everything that matters: Nvidia DLSS, AMD FSR, and Intel XeSS, including frame generation. If you have powerful hardware, you will be able to enable Ray Tracing, which will improve reflections on water or tar and add more realistic shadows in corners. The game will support the 32:9 (Super-ultrawide) format, and the cutscenes will be displayed in the 21:9 format. A really cool addition is full support for the DualSense controller – when you connect it to your PC with a cable, you will feel the haptic feedback and resistance of the triggers just like on the console.

As a final bonus: if you link your accounts, you will receive a special suit inspired by the colors of PlayStation and unique patches for your backpack. The premiere is tomorrow, so it's worth checking if your graphics cards are ready for Sam's return.
