Crowds in theaters for Avatar 3. A million viewers in Poland was reached instantly!

Calendar 12/30/2025

Avatar 3 is breaking attendance records in Polish cinemas. Avatar: Fire and Ash surpassed one million viewers in just two weekends, confirming the massive popularity of James Cameron’s saga.

Avatar 3 doesn't slow down in Poland either. The new installment of James Cameron's saga is attracting huge crowds to theaters and has quickly confirmed that the Avatar brand still works on viewers just as effectively as in previous installments.

According to Box Office Reports data, Avatar: Fire and Ash was already on the verge of crossing the symbolic barrier of one million viewers after its second weekend. In the second weekend of screening, as many as 404 thousand people went to the cinemas – a result that is 1.5% better than during the opening weekend. By the end of Sunday, December 28, the film had gathered 989 thousand viewers, and all signs indicate that the million mark was surpassed by Monday.

This is also confirmed by ticket revenues. As Radosław Koch notes on platform X, Avatar 3 earned $8.16 million in Poland, which perfectly aligns with attendance at around one million viewers.

This result is not surprising, but it is impressive. One million viewers after the second weekend is a result that few titles could boast about in 2025. Among those titles are Dom dobry, Zwierzogród 2, Teściowie 3, and Minecraft. Avatar once again proves that it is one of the few series capable of attracting audiences to theaters en masse – despite the growing popularity of streaming and changing viewer habits.

Global hit and a quick march to a billion

The film is performing just as well worldwide. After a week in theaters, Avatar: Fire and Ash has amassed 761 million dollars globally. Projections indicate that surpassing a billion dollars should occur by the third weekend of screening.

What’s next for Avatar 4 and 5?

Although the financial results look very solid, James Cameron speaks cautiously about the future of the series. Avatar 4 and Avatar 5 already have scheduled release dates – December 2029 and 2031, respectively – however, the director admits that nothing is yet certain. Cameron revealed that in case of abandoning the production of the next movies, he has a backup plan:

– I don’t know if the saga will continue, but I hope so. Business-wise, we have proven every time that it makes sense. However, if we cannot make the fourth and fifth parts, I will organize a press conference and tell everyone what we will do – the creator announced.

One of the ideas is to develop the story of Pandora in the form of books. However, Cameron admits that it is currently difficult to talk about a stable business model for such projects, especially in the American market, where, according to cited studies, about 40% of adults read for pleasure.

– Regardless of everything, it would be nice to have a canonical record of what we were supposed to do – the director emphasizes.

For now, there is no decision. However, it is known that Cameron’s next project will be a new Terminator. Work on the script is set to begin in early 2026.
