Apple is once again heating up the atmosphere with a brief announcement lacking specifics. On March 4 at 9:00 AM Eastern Time, there will be an event called "Special Apple Experience." The company traditionally does not reveal what exactly it will showcase, but industry speculation points to a refresh of the Mac and iPad lines. New configurations of MacBook Pros with stronger chips are on the table, as well as cheaper models aimed at less demanding users. Updates to iPads with newer processors are also possible. Everything will be clarified early in March.
New MacBooks with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips?
The most excitement is generated in the laptop segment. According to leaks, Apple may unveil 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro models equipped with the new M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. This is a long-awaited update for users who need more computing power than the basic M5 offers.
Speculation also includes a more budget-friendly MacBook with a chip similar to the A series and a refreshed MacBook Air with the M5 processor. If this information is confirmed, Apple could simultaneously strike the premium segment and the market for cheaper laptops.
iPads and the possible budget iPhone
The event may also bring updates for tablets. There are talks about a base iPad with a newer chip and an iPad Air powered by the M4 chip. The changes may primarily concern processors, without a major revolution in design. In the background, there are also rumors about the iPhone 17e, a cheaper version of the iPhone with a newer processor and possible support for MagSafe. However, the key factor will be the price – it will determine whether the device will really fill the gap in the offering.
“Special Apple Experience” is shaping up to be an event focused on refreshing the portfolio, rather than a revolution. The new MacBooks with more powerful chips may be the main attraction, but Apple may also strengthen the iPad lineup and the budget segment at the same time. March 4 will show whether the company is preparing just an evolution or something more.
