3on3 Freestyle introduces a new Career Mode, which completely changes the way players learn and develop their skills. Instead of jumping straight into PvP competition, we get a full-fledged PvE experience where players can calmly get a grip on the mechanics, strategies, and pace of the game. This is a significant change, especially for new players who may have previously felt overwhelmed by the fast and demanding online gameplay.
Career Mode introduces character progression and roguelike elements that increase replayability
The new mode is based on the progression of a specific character, which means you develop your player by advancing through successive stages of increasing difficulty. Each character has their own development paths and access to unique challenges, and as you progress, you unlock more difficult levels and better rewards. Additionally, there are roguelike elements where before each stage, you choose random bonuses that affect your playstyle and stay with you throughout the series of challenges. This makes each playthrough look slightly different and requires a more strategic approach, rather than repeating the same patterns.
The solo mode helps prepare for PvP but does not disrupt the balance of online gameplay
The most important thing, however, is that the Career Mode serves as a safe learning environment, without affecting PvP balance. You can develop your character, test builds, and experiment with settings without fear of "breaking" something in ranked modes. At the same time, everything you learn—positioning, timing, decisions—translates directly to online play. It's a clever solution that allows players to grow at their own pace while also preparing them for more challenging competition.
