1000 Hz in a gaming monitor? KTC launches the 27M2Pro in China, offering a 27-inch Fast IPS panel and two refresh-rate modes. The device lets you choose between WQHD at 540 Hz or HD at a staggering 1000 Hz! Interestingly, its price could be as little as 2,000 PLN.
Two modes
The KTC 27M2Pro uses a Fast IPS panel with a native resolution of 2560 × 1440 pixels. The manufacturer specifies a 1 ms GtG response time, a 1000:1 contrast ratio and 97% DCI-P3 and 100% sRGB coverage. It also supports Adaptive-Sync and HDR400.
The most interesting feature, however, is the Dual Mode technology, which lets you switch between two operating modes:
Resolution | Refresh rate |
|---|---|
WQHD (2560 × 1440) | 500 Hz, up to 540 Hz with OC |
HD (1280 × 720) | 1000 Hz |
1,000 Hz is impressive, but there's a catch
The maximum refresh rate is only available at a resolution of 1280 × 720 pixels. On a 27-inch screen that means noticeably lower image sharpness, which hardly makes sense. HD on a 27-inch monitor can already lead to fairly visible pixelation. Additionally, achieving 540 Hz in WQHD requires Windows 11. The monitor also offers a special DAC mode that the manufacturer says reduces response time to 0.5 ms. On board it includes DisplayPort 2.1, two HDMI 2.1 ports, USB-C with 65 W charging and an adjustable stand.
The 27M2Pro model was already shown in September at the Tokyo Game Show, and it has now gone on sale in China. Its price is 3,332 yuan (about 2,000 PLN), although with local subsidies it can fall to 2,998 yuan, about 1,700 PLN.
For now it is not known when the monitor will arrive in Poland or how much it will cost in European stores.
