The best Samsung televisions 2024 / 2025! Which Samsung television to choose? Choose.TV

Calendar 4/30/2025

Samsung is one of those brands that literally floods the market with new models every year. And there is no exaggeration in this — it is arguably one of the few manufacturers that offers almost every available type of panel. Here we will find both QD-OLED, WOLED, classic VA panels, IPS, and even 8K televisions, Mini-LED, and QLED. It sounds impressive, but... also a bit overwhelming. Because if it's difficult to keep track of all the televisions from one brand, just imagine the entire market. That's why we have prepared this ranking – a specific guide to the most interesting Samsung models that will help you choose something perfect for your needs. Without overpaying and without wandering through abbreviations and the rest of the alphabetical chaos.

Best Samsung TV

In this category, we highlight the model that we believe best represents what Samsung is currently doing best in its offering. We searched for a television that offers top-notch picture quality, all the features, and versatility – but without unnecessarily overspending on gadgets that few of us realistically use. This is a choice for those who want high-end equipment but still feel that they are paying for quality and not just for the brand. In short: if you want to buy a decent Samsung TV for years to come, you will find it right here.

🏆 Best Samsung TV

🏆 Best Samsung TV in terms of price/quality

🏆 Best 65-inch Samsung TV

Instead of immediately jumping to the flagship models, we decided to approach the topic sensibly. The Samsung S90D, or S94D as it is also known, in the 65" size is a model that, in our opinion, best combines top image quality with a reasonable price – and that is precisely why it receives our title of the best television from this brand. The S90D uses the same QD-OLED technology as the more expensive S95D. It therefore offers everything that matters: perfect black, brilliant colours, very good HDR brightness, and perfect image fluidity. Additionally, it features 144 Hz, low input lag, HDMI 2.1, VRR, as well as full support for film content – including Filmmaker Mode. Indeed, the S95D is even better – it has higher brightness and, for example, the external One Connect module. The only catch is that it often costs almost twice as much, and the difference in everyday use is not so spectacular. That is why, in our opinion, the S90D is the best choice in Samsung's entire range for 2024. However, it is worth adding that not all sizes of the S90D come equipped with a QD-OLED panel. Only the 65" variant uses this technology, while the 48", 55", 77", and 83" models have an WOLED panel from LG Display. Although they still offer very good parameters, they fall short compared to QD-OLED – particularly when it comes to colour gamut coverage, viewing angles, and maximum brightness. Therefore, we recommend purchasing the 65" version.

Best High-End Samsung TV

This is a proposal for those who do not want to make compromises. In this category, we point out a model from the absolute top – one that utilises the full potential of Samsung's technology and will perform even in demanding conditions. If you care about a cinema-like effect in the comfort of your home, the highest HDR brightness, brilliant blacks, and premium-class solutions, then here you will find the television that meets these expectations.

🏆 The best of the best Samsung televisions

🏆 The best Samsung television for home cinema

Samsung S95D is a model that we wouldn’t recommend to everyone – but if you care about absolutely top-notch picture quality and have a larger budget, this will be a choice from the category of no compromises. This is a television that will perform well in practically any application – from home cinema to gaming on a console. It uses the new generation of QD-OLED panel which offers even higher brightness than the S90D model, while maintaining excellent black levels, outstanding colours, and full support for gamers – 144 Hz, low input lag, VRR, and HDMI 2.1 are all a given here.

Against the competition, it stands out with a matte screen coating – in our opinion, this is currently the best solution for combating light reflections in bright rooms. However, it should be noted that in full daylight, colours may appear somewhat muted – that’s just the charm of this technology. Additionally, there’s a truly impressive design – in profile, this television looks like the thickness of a pen and that is no exaggeration. The thickness of the panel is about 1 cm, and thanks to the One Connect module, all the cables can be conveniently connected outside the screen, which makes a huge impression in a minimalist interior.

This is one of those televisions that earns recognition not only in laboratory tests but also in blind live tests – and no wonder the S95D won the title of best home cinema television in the HDTV Shootout 2024 test. We also have no doubts – if you are looking for the best of the best, the S95D is a choice that will not disappoint anyone.

The best Samsung Mini-LED / NeoQLED television

Samsung's MiniLED televisions are a must-have for those who want very good picture quality, high brightness, and decent contrast but do not necessarily want to opt for OLED. In this category, we choose a model that offers the best balance between performance and price – that is, one that "sees" the most for each pound spent.

🏆 Best MiniLED / NeoQLED TV from Samsung

🏆 Best all-round TV from Samsung

In this category, we were looking for a television with MiniLED backlighting that offers the best possible performance for everyday use, while also not disappointing with more demanding content. Our choice was the Samsung QN90D – a model that combines very high brightness, good local dimming algorithms, and a full package of features for gamers. It should be honestly noted – the QN90D does not offer the perfect black that can be seen in OLED televisions, and in this respect, it performs worse than the S90D or S95D. However, it makes up for this in other ways: HDR effects are incredible, especially thanks to the very high peak brightness. Importantly, this brightness translates not only to spectacular HDR but also to better visibility of the picture in challenging lighting conditions – for example, in a sunny living room. The QN90D is also a great choice if you are simply looking for a television for everyday watching – not only due to the lack of burn-in risk that occurs in OLEDs but also thanks to the panel with wide viewing angles. It is one of the few Samsung models that offers such an addition – and with larger screen sizes, it really makes a difference. It's also worth mentioning why we did not choose the more expensive QN95D in this category. It is a very similar model that offers a few more dimming zones and an additional camera in the set, but in our opinion, the differences in image quality are not significant enough to justify paying a few thousand extra. We also passed on the QN900D, which is an 8K television that, while looking impressive on paper, does not offer significantly better quality than the cheaper MiniLED models in practice. Especially since its price is simply astronomical.

The best mid-range Samsung television

This is a television for those who are not looking for a flagship, but also do not want to settle for just any “first better” model from the store. In this category, balance matters – good picture quality and very good price. We were searching for a model that would perform well in everyday use, handle movies, and not disappoint when gaming on a console. If you want to buy a solid Samsung but do not plan to spend a fortune, this is exactly where you should be looking.

The QN85D is the best mid-range Samsung television – MiniLED, 120 Hz and good HDR without paying a premium for flagship models. QNX1D is the best mid-range Samsung television – MiniLED, 120 Hz and good HDR without paying extra for the flagships.

🏆 Best mid-range Samsung TV

In this category, we recommend a model that perfectly fits the so-called average premium tier. The Samsung Neo QLED QN85D (or QNX1D) is a television that, depending on the store or market, appears under two names. The only difference is the type of stand. The panel itself and its capabilities are exactly the same. This is one of those models that we know very well from tests, and we can confidently say that the QN85D is one of our favourite Samsung televisions in 2024. Why? Because it offers a lot, yet doesn't cost as much as the flagships. Here, we find MiniLED backlighting, a 120 Hz panel, a full set of features for gamers (HDMI 2.1, VRR, low input lag), as well as quite decent HDR brightness.

Of course, it is not a top model like the previously discussed QN90D – it doesn’t achieve such spectacular brightness, has fewer zones of dimming, and slightly weaker contrast. But still, the QN85D is a model that we can wholeheartedly recommend to almost anyone. It works great as a television for daily viewing, gaming, and for movies and series. Especially if you care about something modern that looks good, works quickly, and will handle all applications. This is equipment from the category: “buy it, set it up, enjoy it, and don’t tinker with it”. And that is exactly why it has made it to this selection.

The best Samsung television from the lower/mid-range

If you are not looking for a flagship model, but you care about something better than the basic model from the supermarket, then this is the place to look. In this category, we focus on a television that offers more than a typical cheap television.

🏆 Best cheaper Samsung television

Samsung Q80D is a television that officially does not belong to the Neo QLED line, but in practice, it is closer to the higher-end models than to the classic QLEDs like the Q70D. What sets it apart? Above all, it is the only model in this range that offers local dimming - something that is hard to find in lower series. This feature enhances the contrast, and the blacks look much better than in typical budget televisions with edge lighting or full DirectLED. It is a television that has everything needed for gaming and watching dynamic content: a 120 Hz panel, HDMI 2.1, low input lag, and full support for VRR. While it may not reach the highest series level, for everyday use - including watching sports, series, or gaming on a console - the Q80D performs excellently. It is particularly worth noting this model in larger sizes, as the 75-inch version is often very well priced. For this price-to-performance ratio, we consider the Q80D to be the best "budget mid-range" option in Samsung's offering - one that looks premium but costs significantly less.

Best Cheap Samsung Television

This category is for those who are looking for the cheapest possible Samsung that still offers something more than the basic model.

🏆 Best cheap Samsung TV

🏆 Best Samsung TV under 500

The Samsung Q60D is the cheapest QLED model in the manufacturer's range, but it is still more than just a typical budget model from a supermarket. There are no miracles here, no local dimming, only 60 Hz, average contrast, but nonetheless, the Q60D performs quite well at this price. In everyday use, whether it be Netflix, YouTube, or television, it handles everything without major issues. The Tizen system is quick, access to apps is convenient, and the colours – thanks to the quantum dot layer – look better than in cheaper models from the Crystal UHD series. It must also be admitted that the design is surprisingly modern, so the television doesn’t look “cheap,” even if it actually is. What primarily distinguishes the Q60D from other QLED models is the very wide availability of sizes. This television is available in both a 43-inch version and a huge 85-inch variant. And although, to be honest, we do not recommend going for its largest sizes, as the larger the screen, the more the technological limitations become apparent (brightness, contrast, lack of dimming zones), up to 55 inches, it is really a decent option. Especially if you care about the brand, sensible design, and easy access to apps. The Q60D is a typical “apartment television” that doesn’t pretend to be anything more, but also doesn’t disappoint if we don’t expect miracles. And it is for this reasonable balance at a low price that we recommend it.
