Philips has unveiled the new Evnia 36M4C5500P gaming monitor, which the manufacturer says is the world's first 36-inch gaming monitor with a refresh rate of up to 260 Hz. The device features a curved Fast VA panel, an ultrawide 21:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 3440 × 1440 pixels.
36-inch, 260 Hz and HDR400
Philips Evnia 36M4C5500P uses a Fast VA panel with a 1500R curve and a native 240 Hz refresh rate, which can be increased to 260 Hz in OC mode. The manufacturer specifies a 1 ms GtG response time and 0.3 ms MPRT when using the Smart MBR feature.
The monitor offers a 4000:1 contrast ratio, 95% DCI-P3 coverage and 350 nits of brightness in SDR. It is also DisplayHDR 400 certified, with peak HDR brightness reaching 500 nits.
HDMI 2.1, RGB and availability
On board are two HDMI 2.1 ports, DisplayPort 1.4 and a headphone output. It is worth noting, however, that at a resolution of 3440 × 1440 the HDMI ports support a maximum of 100 Hz. To take advantage of higher refresh rates, a DisplayPort connection will therefore be required.
It also includes ShadowBoost, Smart Crosshair and Smart Sniper, and the Iconglow illuminated logo on the chassis lets you adjust the RGB effects.
The Philips Evnia 36M4C5500P has been announced for the Asia-Pacific market. Price and release date in Poland remain unknown.
