Microsoft has expanded the Designed for Xbox programme with a new collection of accessories aimed at fans of a calmer style of gaming. The Designed for Xbox Cozy Collection focuses primarily on a cosy look and a cohesive aesthetic inspired by a pixelated forest, nature and small adventures. The series features products from 8BitDo, SteelSeries and KontrolFreek. These include a mechanical keyboard, a mouse, a controller, in-ear headphones and thumbstick caps. The entire collection is already available, and individual products can be bought directly from their manufacturers.
8BitDo has prepared a keyboard, mouse and controller
One of the main items in the collection is the 8BitDo Retro 87 Mechanical Keyboard in the Forest Wonder edition. The keyboard features a separate control panel, RGB backlighting and programmable super buttons. It uses Kailh tactile mechanical switches. Stylistically matched to the set is the 8BitDo Retro R8 Mouse in Forest Wonder. The mouse shares the same styling as the keyboard, so the two devices form a cohesive setup. The package also includes a docking station for charging the mouse. The manufacturer fitted four programmable side buttons. The design is geared towards fast, precise handling during gaming. Another device is the 8BitDo Ultimate 3 Controller in the Mossy Lagoon variant. Its colourway is inspired by water, moss and small creatures associated with nature. The controller has an improved grip, a wireless docking station and adjustable analog stick resistance. It supports 2.4 GHz wireless connectivity and wired connections to Xbox consoles and PCs, and can connect to mobile devices via Bluetooth.
SteelSeries and KontrolFreek complete the set
The second part of the collection comprises the SteelSeries Arctis GameBuds in Matcha and Yuzu colours. These are compact in-ear earbuds designed for gaming at home and on the go. They offer active noise cancellation and quick switching between 2.4 GHz wireless connectivity and Bluetooth 5.3. Users also get access to over 200 sound presets for Xbox and other uses in the Arctis Companion app. The earbuds also support 360° spatial audio. Total battery life with the case is up to 40 hours, while a single charge provides up to 10 hours of use. The case supports Qi wireless charging. They are rated IP55 for water and dust resistance. The final element of the Cozy Collection is the No-Slip Thumb Grips, Xbox Cozy Edition, from KontrolFreek. They use GripTek material, which is designed to reduce thumb slippage when using the controller. The grips also feature an ergonomic shape to improve comfort during longer sessions. Their colour scheme combines shades of Matcha and Yuzu, so they match the rest of the collection.
