Microsoft has unveiled a new list of titles that will arrive in the Xbox Game Pass library in the coming days and weeks. These include high‑profile releases available on day one, long‑awaited updates and open tests for new games. The biggest attraction of the line-up is undoubtedly early access to the open beta of Gears of War: E‑Day.
Gears of War: E-Day and more new releases headed to Xbox Game Pass
The biggest novelty prepared by Microsoft is the opportunity to take part early in the open beta for Gears of War: E-Day. Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers will get access to the tests on 6 August. Players will be able to try the new Horde Siege PvE mode, which expands the familiar cooperative wave-based combat formula with larger maps, more participants and more spectacular encounters. On the same day PowerWash Simulator 2 will also arrive on the service, the sequel to the popular cleaning simulator, offering new locations, equipment and additional gameplay features. On 11 August the catalogue will be expanded with Bounty Star, a game that combines mech combat with base-building and farming elements. That day will also see the arrival of the humorous dating simulator Date Everything!, in which players can form relationships with almost any object found in the house. Grounded 2 will also return to the library with a large Into The Abyss update, expanding the game's world and the content of the early access title. Microsoft is also continuing its strategy of making new releases available on launch day, so subscribers do not have to buy new titles separately. All of these games will be added to the service progressively in the first half of August.
August will bring more games and changes to the Xbox Game Pass library
The list of August additions doesn’t end with the biggest releases. On 4 August the service added remastered versions of the classics Heretic and Hexen, as well as a new action RPG, Beast of Reincarnation from Game Freak. On 6 August subscribers will also get the roguelite Monsters are Coming!, while the following day trials for EA Sports Madden NFL 27 on EA Play will begin. Subsequent days will see the releases of Ball x Pit, Cricket 26, Mio: Memories in Orbit, Sandustry and Egging On. Microsoft also reminded players of Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops 7 about available benefits; they can pick up a free cosmetics pack containing operator skins, weapon blueprints and other extras. The company also announced games leaving the service on 15 August. The library will lose Atlas Fallen, Firewatch, Aliens: Fireteam Elite and Menace in its Game Preview version on PC. That means people planning to complete these titles have a few days left to play them or buy them at a subscriber discount. The latest update shows that Microsoft continues to regularly expand the Game Pass library, offering both brand-new releases and returns of classic titles.
The first half of August looks set to be particularly busy for Xbox Game Pass subscribers. Microsoft has lined up a mix of new releases, classics and major updates, and the biggest event will undoubtedly be the open beta of Gears of War: E-Day, available early to subscribers. As a result, the Game Pass library will once again grow significantly.
