Microsoft has confirmed the details of its presence at gamescom 2026 in Cologne. The company plans to combine a presentation of new games with celebrations of the 25th anniversary of the Xbox brand. Visitors will be able to try pre-release versions of many much-anticipated titles and meet their creators. Organisers have also prepared numerous attractions for people following the event from home. A record number of gaming stations will be on site, and there will be a special zone for the Xbox community. This will be one of Microsoft's largest presentations at this year's show.

Over 25 games and 140 gaming stations for testing new releases

At the Xbox booth there will be 25 upcoming games and as many as 140 gaming stations. The biggest draw will be the chance to play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, showcasing a 6v6 multiplayer mode. Players will, for the first time, be able to try the campaign for Gears of War: E-Day ahead of its October launch. Microsoft will also make available the first playable build of Minecraft Dungeons II. Gameplay from Fable developed by Playground Games will be shown publicly for the first time. Visitors can also look forward to METRO 2039, STRANGER THAN HEAVEN and a refreshed Halo: Campaign Evolved. There will be new features in Forza Horizon 6, including a Drift Attack mode and announcements of further collaborations. Microsoft will also reveal new content for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, including the National Championship Air Races. Also on the list of available titles are Alien: Isolation 2, Alien Deathstorm, Armatus, The Blood of Dawnwalker, Castlevania: Belmont's Curse, Crowsworn, STAR WARS Zero Company, Turok: Origins and Valor Mortis. As part of the brand's 25th anniversary celebrations, visitors will be able to see interactive exhibits recalling the most important moments in Xbox history. The programme will be rounded off by meetings with developers and numerous presentations of new game footage. Microsoft emphasises that the event is above all a celebration of players and the Xbox community.

FanFest, live streams and facilities for all attendees

Those who do not attend the show in person will be able to follow the live streams on YouTube and Twitch. The streams will begin on 26 and 27 August and will include interviews with creators, gameplay presentations and new trailers. The Xbox FanFest will also return and is scheduled for the evening of 26 August at Microsoft's stand. The company has organised a lottery through which fans can win tickets to the event. The Xbox stand will be equipped with numerous accessibility features for people with disabilities. On site there will be Xbox Adaptive Controllers, adjustable gaming stations and a dedicated quiet area. The organisers will also provide sign language interpreters and audio description in English and German. The stand will be located in Hall 7 and will remain open for the duration of the show. Microsoft hopes that, with its wide range of offerings, every visitor will find something to enjoy. This year's gamescom is set to be one of the biggest events in Xbox's history. The company intends to use the occasion not only to present new games but also to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its console.

Gamescom 2026 will be a special event for Xbox fans. Microsoft has prepared a record number of games to try out, numerous showcases and activities celebrating the brand's 25th anniversary, making the company's stand one of the most important spots at the entire event.
