Whisper of the House has just debuted on PS5, an unusual game that emphasises relaxed play and organising space. The player takes on the role of a helper to the residents of Whisper Town, who need support with moving house, cleaning, furnishing homes and preparing shops. However, it is not an ordinary game about tidying interiors, because the objects in the rooms can tell their own stories. The developers have therefore combined relaxing gameplay with a subtle thread of mystery and exploration. Whisper of the House is already available on PS5, and a 20 per cent launch discount is available.
Over 1800 items and plenty of interior design possibilities
In Whisper of the House tidying rooms is not about following a single formula of simple tasks. The player helps the residents of Whisper Town with things such as helping them move into new homes, clearing clutter, preparing shops for opening and finding lost pets. Each job also lets you get to know the owner of the place better. Room decor is designed so that even ordinary objects can hint at their owners. A kept memento might point to an important memory, and an unfinished corner of a room can suggest abandoned plans. The game includes over 1800 furnishing items and more than 10 different house layouts. They can be used to create book-filled studies, rooms overflowing with plants or more unusual hideouts. Selected furniture, floors and wallpapers can also be customised in terms of colour and texture. The developers have also added numerous small interactions that do not always have a direct effect on the tasks being carried out. For example, you can start an old gramophone, squeeze a rubber duck or pull a single tissue from a box. These are accompanied by detailed sound effects designed to make ordinary actions more satisfying. The whole experience has been designed so that organising a space feels calm while also encouraging experimentation.

However, the creators did not limit Whisper of the House to decorating and cleaning alone. While helping the residents, you may come across strange details that suggest Whisper Town hides a larger story. One example is the number 42 appearing in the museum. There are also rumours in town of a mischievous ghost near the well. The player may also discover cracks concealing something that shouldn't be there. Further clues come in the form of letters which, rather than clarifying the situation, often raise more questions. The creators describe this element of the game as "cosy snooping", a quiet way of peeking into the residents' secrets. There is no need to rush from one puzzle to another. The mysteries are scattered through the world so the most observant players can notice them for themselves. The same attentiveness that helps to place a keepsake correctly in a room can therefore lead to uncovering something far stranger. An important part of the fun is also creating your own home using the furniture and items you acquire. There is no single right way to furnish it, so you can create a minimalist interior, a room full of decorations or a completely unconventional space. Whisper of the House thus combines relaxing tidying with curiosity and a subtle narrative layer.
Whisper of the House is now available on PS5 and may appeal to players looking for a calmer title with elements of mystery.
