Sony has launched a new campaign promoting the PlayStation 5 console and its key games. The "It Happens on PS5" advert aims to showcase the range of emotions and spectacular moments that await players. The piece features both current titles and the most eagerly anticipated upcoming releases. However, the campaign will not be limited to the internet, as Sony has also prepared special attractions in several countries.

Sony shows what you can experience on PlayStation 5

The new "It Happens on PS5" campaign is intended to remind players that PlayStation 5 offers a wide selection of large and varied titles. Sony emphasises that now is a good time to use the console because of the many games already available and further releases planned for the coming months. At the centre of the campaign are primarily big and spectacular gameplay moments designed to demonstrate the platform’s capabilities. The new advert takes viewers on a dynamic journey full of unusual and eye-catching scenes. The spot features, among other things, the sporting skills of Giannis Antetokounmpo, which are meant to evoke the effect of city streets in motion. There is also a high-speed jet ski chase, underlining the campaign’s focus on action and excitement. Sony uses both popular brands and upcoming titles to attract the attention of PS5 owners. Among the games mentioned is Marvel’s Wolverine, whose release is scheduled for 15 September. Another key title is 007 First Light, a new game using the James Bond licence. The company also calls attention to God of War: Laufey, as well as the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI. All of these titles are intended to show that many major releases still lie ahead for PS5 users. The campaign is therefore not only an advert for the console itself, but also a showcase of what players can explore now and what they can expect in the future.

The campaign moves off screen and appears on the streets

Sony has also prepared special promotional activities designed to take the "It Happens on PS5" campaign beyond traditional advertising. In various parts of the world there will be special installations and local activations inspired by games available on PlayStation 5. Particular attention is drawn to attractions tied to the upcoming Marvel’s Wolverine. In France players may come across special challenge capsules inspired by the game, which are intended to let fans get a closer feel for its atmosphere. In Australia there will be an activation utilising Berserker Mode, one of the elements associated with Wolverine’s new adventure. Sony also plans spectacular installations related to the Sentinels. Large structures depicting Sentinel heads will be seen by people in the UK, Canada and Spain. That is not the end of the attractions, as other locations will also receive installations referencing popular PS5 games. The company wants in this way to ensure that the world of PlayStation appears in real-world spaces, not just on television screens. The campaign is therefore intended to engage players both while watching adverts and as they go about their day in the city. Sony is also counting on the unusual installations being photographed and shared online by fans. All of this is intended to increase interest in the key titles available on PS5. The launch of Marvel’s Wolverine will be especially significant, since some of the most distinctive activations have been built around that game.
