Sphere in Las Vegas has become one of the most futuristic attractions in the world since its opening. The gigantic sphere covered in LED screens has quickly turned into a symbol of modern entertainment and technology. The facility offers not only a huge screen inside the building but also 4D effects, a special audio system, and spectacular visualisations displayed on the outer part of the structure around the clock. Now, the creators of the project have officially confirmed the construction of two more Spheres in other locations. New arenas are set to appear in Abu Dhabi and Maryland by the end of the decade. This shows that the market for massive immersive spectacles may just be beginning its development.
ChooseTV wants to conquer the world with gigantic LED screens and 4D effects
ChooseTV in Las Vegas cost around 2.3 billion dollars and was intended from the start to be something much larger than a typical concert hall. Inside the venue, there is a gigantic LED screen with a resolution of 16K x 16K surrounding nearly the entire field of vision of the audience. The arena also uses over 160,000 speakers and additional effects such as moving seats, wind, and fog. The outside of the building also functions as a massive LED screen visible from almost all of Las Vegas. The company responsible for the project has long promised to create a global network of such venues. It has now been confirmed that a second full-scale Sphere will be built on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi near the Formula 1 track. The venue is set to open in late 2029 and will accommodate around 20,000 spectators.
A smaller version of Sphere with even more advanced technology will also be created
The third Sphere arena is set to be built in Maryland, USA, and will be referred to as a smaller version of the entire concept. The venue will accommodate around 6,000 spectators but will still feature a 16K x 16K resolution LED screen. This will be made possible by the development of LED technology and the increasing pixel density. The arena will also maintain 4D effects and the characteristic screen on the exterior of the building. However, the company announces that this time the external displays will not operate all night long. The entire project is expected to be completed around 2030. In the past, building a Sphere in London and South Korea was also considered, but no specific decisions regarding these locations have yet been made.
The Sphere from Las Vegas officially begins its global expansion and by the end of the decade will see additional futuristic arenas in Abu Dhabi and Maryland. Gigantic LED screens and immersive 4D effects are increasingly changing the way concerts, shows, and live performances are organised.
