Samsung and Google showcase AI smart glasses. Gemini goes straight before the user's eyes.

Calendar 5/21/2026

Samsung Electronics and Google have officially presented the first smart glasses created in collaboration with fashion brands Gentle Monster and Warby Parker. The new device aims to combine artificial intelligence with everyday use in a lightweight form of classic glasses.

Gemini arrives in smart glasses

The new glasses will act as an extension of the smartphone and allow users to utilise AI features without taking their phone out of their pocket. Users will have access to the Google Gemini assistant through voice commands. The system is intended to enable navigation, real-time translations, reading messages, managing calendars, and searching for places in the vicinity, among other things. Google and Samsung are also announcing the translation of texts visible to the user, such as restaurant menus or street signs.

Samsung bets on a new AI ecosystem

The company emphasises that the smart glasses are to be part of the developing Galaxy ecosystem based on artificial intelligence. The device is designed to work with Galaxy phones and offer convenient hands-free features, including quick photo-taking and access to notifications without looking at the smartphone screen. Samsung views AI glasses as a new category of devices that could represent the next important step after smartphones and smartwatches.

Design plays a significant role in the project as well. Gentle Monster is preparing more futuristic and bold designs, while Warby Parker focuses on a classic and elegant style. The companies emphasise that the glasses should look like a normal fashion product, rather than a typical tech gadget. The first generation of smart glasses from Samsung and Google is set to launch in selected countries in autumn 2026. Details regarding pricing and full specifications are expected to be revealed in the coming months.
