MSI expands its gaming monitor lineup with the MAG 276QBM34. The monitor features a 27-inch Rapid IPS panel, WQHD resolution and a refresh rate of up to 340 Hz. The most interesting feature, however, is the QD-Mini LED backlight with 1,152 local dimming zones, which is said to deliver significantly better HDR performance than conventional IPS monitors.
340 Hz and brightness up to 1000 nits
The MSI MAG 276QBM34 uses a Rapid IPS panel with a resolution of 2560 × 1440 pixels. The maximum refresh rate is 340 Hz in OC mode, while the stated minimum response time is 0.5 ms GtG.
With 1,152 Mini LED dimming zones the monitor can independently control the brightness of different areas of the screen. The manufacturer states a peak brightness of 1000 nits and DisplayHDR 1000 certification. It also features quantum dots, providing 99% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space.
Gamers can use AMD FreeSync Premium, Adaptive Sync compatible with G-Sync, and the SLMB feature to reduce motion blur.
Simplified stand and no price revealed
The new model is closely related to the previously shown MAG 276QRM34. The main difference is the stand, which on the 276QBM34 only allows screen tilt adjustment. The monitor does, however, support a VESA 100 × 100 mm mount.
It is equipped with two HDMI 2.1 ports, two DisplayPort 1.4a ports and a headphone output. Picture-in-Picture and Picture-by-Picture functions are also available, as well as a mode that simulates a 24.5-inch screen.
MSI has not yet disclosed the price or the launch date for Europe. It is also unclear when the monitor will appear in Polish stores.
