After years of waiting, the game Replaced is finally set to debut on the market. The creators from Sad Cat Studios have confirmed that the cyberpunk production will be released on 14 April 2026 on Xbox Series X|S consoles and will be available on the day of its release on Xbox Game Pass. The game was announced back in 2021 during the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase event, but its production actually started even earlier in 2018. The creators have repeatedly emphasised that they want to perfect the project, which is why they decided to dedicate more time to its development.
Cyberpunk Story in a Dystopian World
The game takes place in a dark future after a nuclear disaster. The player finds themselves in the dystopian city of Phoenix-City, where massive corporations control nearly every aspect of life. The main character is Warren, a man connected to a mysterious artificial intelligence system called R.E.A.C.H.. After escaping from a laboratory owned by the powerful Phoenix Corporation, the hero must survive in a brutal world and uncover the truth about the experiments conducted by the corporation.
ChooseTV combines elements of platforming, action gameplay, and stealth. During gameplay, players will explore two-dimensional locations, fight against opponents, and avoid dangers lurking in the dystopian city. The combat system is based on quick punches, counters, and dodges. The developers have also prepared special abilities, such as Huxley, which allow for performing spectacular, cinematic finishes on opponents after charging a special energy bar. In addition to combat, exploration also plays an important role. The game will feature platforming elements, climbing structures, and avoiding opponents using stealth mechanics.
One of the most stylish indie games
One of the biggest assets of the game is its visual design. Replaced uses detailed pixel art graphics, which, combined with a cyberpunk atmosphere, evokes classic science fiction films. The game's atmosphere is reminiscent of productions in the style of “Blade Runner”, and the creators paid great attention to the details of the environment and character animations.
