Sony has presented new details regarding accessories that were first announced last year. The company aims to further develop the ecosystem of devices that work with both PlayStation 5 and personal computers. This time, the manufacturer revealed launch dates, prices, and the start of pre-orders for several new products. Among them are devices aimed at both fighting game fans and those building their own gaming setups. Sony notes that more and more gamers are using consoles outside the traditional living room, which is why it is preparing equipment tailored to modern desks and computer stations. The first devices will be available for sale as early as August.
FlexStrike aims to attract fighting game enthusiasts and tournament competitors
The most important innovation is the wireless FlexStrike controller. This is the first fight stick in the history of PlayStation to use wireless communication. The device has been designed with competitive gamers in mind for productions such as fighting games and tournament arcade games. Sony emphasizes that the equipment has been developed considering the needs of professional users and those who frequently travel to tournaments. The package will include a special transport bag to facilitate the carrying of the device. The manufacturer also included a built-in battery, so the controller does not require a constant wired connection. FlexStrike will be compatible with both PlayStation 5 and PCs. The official launch is set for 6 August 2026. The date is not accidental, as it coincides with the release of the game MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls. Pre-orders will begin on 12 June. The price of the device has been set at $199.99. Sony hopes that the new controller will become an attractive alternative to popular fight sticks currently available on the market. The company aims to establish a stronger presence in the e-sports gaming hardware segment in the future.
The monitor and new speakers are set to create a complete gaming station
The second product is a 27-inch gaming monitor equipped with a special holder for charging the DualSense controller. The device uses an IPS panel with a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The screen supports VRR technology and refresh rates of up to 120 Hz on PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro consoles. For PCs and Mac computers, the frequency can increase to as much as 240 Hz. Sony highlights that the monitor has been designed with those who use a console at a desk in mind. Pre-orders will begin on June 5, and the device will be priced at $349.99. The launch will take place on August 27. The manufacturer has also announced new wireless speakers, Pulse Elevate. These will build on the solutions known from the Pulse Explore and Pulse Elite headphone sets. Sony aims to provide a more spatial and immersive sound experience without the need for headphones. The company has not yet revealed the exact specifications or price of the device. It is only known that the speakers are set to be released before the end of 2026. Together with the new monitor, they are designed to create a complete set intended for gaming outside the living room.
Sony is consistently expanding its range of equipment compatible with the PlayStation 5. The most interest may be sparked by the wireless fight stick FlexStrike, which targets the community of fighting game and e-sport fans. At the same time, the company is developing the segment of monitors and audio devices, aiming to reach gamers using their own computer setups.
