Paralives is one of the most interesting upcoming life simulator games, which has attracted the attention of fans of The Sims series from the very beginning. The creators promise significantly greater freedom in building houses and creating characters than in competing productions.
Paralives focuses on immense personalisation
The game will allow players to create their own characters called Parafolk, build homes, and manage the daily lives of the heroes in an open world. However, the most interest is generated by the extensive building mode. The creators showcased, among other things, the ability to create curved walls, freely change the colours of furniture, and perform very detailed editing of interiors. The character personalisation system is also expected to be significantly more developed. The game will feature height sliders, the ability to modify individual body parts, and more realistic physics for hair and clothing.
Paralives aims to allow players to lead various virtual lives in an open city full of events and interactions among residents. The game will also receive support for Steam Workshop, enabling the community to share their own objects and cosmetic add-ons. However, the creators are not currently planning full support for more advanced mods that alter gameplay or a multiplayer mode.
Small studio, but huge interest
The project is backed by a small team led by Alex Massé, who previously worked on PewDiePie's Tuber Simulator among other projects. Despite the small scale of the project, Paralives has gained immense popularity among life simulator fans, and the game's Patreon account has seen significant growth after the presentation of the first gameplay materials. Paralives is currently heading exclusively to PC and Mac via the Steam platform. The developers do not plan on console or mobile versions. The game still does not have an official release date, but it is already high on the wish lists of many gamers waiting for an alternative to The Sims.
