OLED is increasingly finding its place on gamers' desks, and projections suggest this is just the beginning of wider growth. According to UBI Research, shipments of OLED panels for monitors are expected to rise from around 5.17 million in 2026 to 7.43 million in 2027. That would mean roughly a 44% increase in just one year.

Behind this result are mainly Samsung Display and LG Display, which are developing the QD-OLED and WOLED technologies, respectively. UBI Research predicts Samsung's shipments will rise from about 3.74 million to 5.08 million panels, while LG's will increase from 1.43 million to 2.35 million. Samsung would therefore retain the scale advantage, but LG would grow that part of the business faster in percentage terms. These are forecasts of shipments of the panels themselves, not the number of monitors purchased by customers.

In the longer term the numbers become even more impressive. By 2030 analysts predict around 16.73 million OLED panels for monitors, more than three times the forecast for 2026. For buyers, this market development could mean a wider choice of screen sizes, specifications and designs. Greater production scale also raises hopes of more affordable prices, although the report itself does not say when or by how much monitors might get cheaper.
