Fans of American football no longer need to wait for the official release of Madden NFL 27. Electronic Arts has rolled out early access for EA Play subscribers, allowing them to spend up to 10 hours with the game before the full release. As well as getting an early start to the season, players also receive extra bonuses, discounts and rewards for Ultimate Team mode.
EA Play lets you play Madden NFL 27 before release
Subscribers to EA Play can already start playing Madden NFL 27 thanks to a 10-hour trial period. Access includes the full content of the game, allowing players to check out all the major new features prepared by Electronic Arts. Importantly, progress earned during the trial will be automatically transferred to the full game after purchase, so there is no need to restart your career from scratch. As part of the subscription, users also receive a special EA Play Welcome Pack to help them get started. An additional benefit is a 10 per cent discount on the digital purchase of the game and on Madden Points. Subscribers can also claim monthly packs for Madden Ultimate Team, strengthening their roster with new players and items. Early access is available to users of Xbox Cloud Gaming, PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate, which include the EA Play service. This lets you try the game without having to buy the full version immediately. For many players it will be an opportunity to see whether this year’s instalment in the series really brings the expected changes.
New Persona Engine and major changes to gameplay
The biggest new feature in Madden NFL 27 is the debut of the Persona Engine, a system that gives each player an individual personality and behaviour. According to Electronic Arts, footballers will now make decisions in a more realistic way, reacting to events that occur across the season. Changes also affect the gameplay itself, which is said to offer more physical matchups between offensive and defensive players. The developers have rebuilt the mechanics of short plays, improved defensive alignments and added new pre-snap play-planning options. The G.O.A.T. career mode has also been expanded, where you take a player from school days all the way to the Hall of Fame. There are new skill trees, additional positions on the field and further decisions that influence career progression. Electronic Arts has also refreshed the progression system in Ultimate Team, where players earn skill points and develop their cards through a new Evos upgrade system. In addition to Madden NFL 27, EA Play subscribers can in August also claim bonuses for games such as Apex Legends, EA Sports FC 26, NHL 26 and College Football 27. The company is continuing to develop its subscription service, regularly offering early access to releases and extra rewards for subscribers.
Madden NFL 27 is now available as part of the 10-hour EA Play trial, allowing players to check out all the major new features before the full release. The new Persona Engine, overhauled gameplay and expanded career mode are designed to make this year's instalment one of the biggest changes in the series' history. For EA Play subscribers, it's also a chance to claim extra rewards and keep all progress after purchasing the game.
