Microsoft has published another roundup of releases prepared for users of the Xbox ecosystem. In the last week of July several dozen new titles representing almost every genre will go on sale and appear on the Game Pass service. The biggest star of the line-up remains Halo: Campaign Evolved, the remastered version of the iconic Halo: Combat Evolved campaign. There will also be new RPGs, strategy games, horror titles and indie releases. Some titles will be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one. It's one of the most diverse weeks in the Xbox release calendar in recent months.
Halo returns and Game Pass gains more premieres
The most important release of the week is undoubtedly Halo: Campaign Evolved, which will debut on 28 July on Xbox Series X|S and PC. The production refreshes the campaign of the iconic Halo: Combat Evolved, offering upgraded visuals, improved controls and additional missions that depict events leading up to the main story. The game will also arrive in the Xbox Game Pass library on day one. A day later, Mistfall Hunter will join the service — a dark action game with extraction and roguelite elements set in a fantasy world. Among the bigger releases are Dispatch, from the creators of Tales from the Borderlands and The Wolf Among Us, which offers a humorous superhero story. Fans of classic RPGs will also receive Gothic Classic, the return of the legendary title in a version for modern Xbox consoles. Game Pass will also be bolstered by the strategy Corsair Cove, which lets you build a pirate town and command your own fleet. As a result, subscribers will get several major releases within just a few days. Microsoft is once again favouring simultaneous debuts of selected games on the service. The line-up includes both big-budget titles and ambitious projects from independent studios. The coming week could prove especially attractive for regular Xbox Game Pass users. It’s also a good opportunity to catch up on several entirely new franchises. Microsoft clearly shows that the second half of the year looks set to be very busy.
Strategy, horror and indie games will fill the end of July
In addition to the biggest releases, players will have access to many smaller but varied titles. Among them are The King Is Watching, Forever Skies, PAW Patrol: Dino World and Zombie Graveyard Simulator. Horror fans will be able to pick up Nightmare Shift, Angel Engine or The Green Light. Fans of puzzle games will get titles such as Railway Routes, Sizeable and Case Solved: The London Files. There will also be fast-paced shooters like Kusan: City of Wolves, HARDWIRED: Ghost In The Reset and Truxton Extreme. The schedule also includes platformers, simulators and games geared towards relaxing play. Some titles will offer support for Xbox Play Anywhere and Smart Delivery, allowing progress to be carried across devices. Many new games have been optimised for Xbox Series X|S. PC players will also find several releases available simultaneously on PC. Microsoft continues its strategy of regularly enriching its catalogue with indie productions alongside major releases. That should mean every platform user can find something to suit their preferences. The end of July looks set to be particularly packed for the whole Xbox ecosystem.
The last week of July will bring Xbox users several dozen new games. The biggest event will be the release of Halo: Campaign Evolved, but the rich line-up will also include many titles available from day one on Xbox Game Pass and numerous indie games spanning a variety of genres.
