The latest survey shows that it is Sony players who may become the largest audience for the remake. For many Xbox fans, this situation seems almost surreal. Microsoft is clearly moving further away from the classic exclusivity strategy and aims to develop its brands across multiple platforms simultaneously.
Most players want to play Halo specifically on PlayStation 5
A new survey conducted by Spawn Wave gathered over 18 thousand votes and yielded very surprising results. As many as 43 percent of participants declared that they plan to buy Halo Campaign Evolved specifically on PlayStation 5. Second place went to PCs with a score of 31 percent. The least votes were garnered by Xbox Series consoles. The results immediately sparked huge discussions among players, as Halo has always been primarily associated with the Xbox brand. For some fans, this is a sign that Microsoft is increasingly no longer treating exclusivity as a priority.
Microsoft could completely change the future of the Halo series
Information has already emerged that Microsoft is working on more remakes of games from the Halo series. If the first project is successful on PlayStation, the subsequent instalments could further develop on Sony's platforms. Some players have even joked that PlayStation might become the new home for Halo. However, the series has struggled with issues and a weaker reception for its later entries for years. Cross-platform availability could therefore help Microsoft restore the brand's popularity and reach entirely new audiences. Comments are also appearing with requests for a version on the Nintendo Switch 2.
