OLED technology has been delighting users with its image quality for years, but monitor users have often pointed out problems related to the display of text and small interface elements. Panel manufacturers have decided to respond to these concerns. During the Computex 2026 fair, Dell presented two new Alienware models equipped with next-generation OLED panels. The most significant change is the use of the RGB Stripe pixel layout, which is expected to significantly improve image sharpness during everyday work and gaming. This is one of the biggest changes in the world of OLEDs in many years.
Alienware introduces the first 39-inch OLED 5K2K with RGB Stripe
The star of the presentation was the Alienware AW3926QW model. This is an ultra-wide monitor with a diagonal of 39 inches and a resolution of 5120 × 2160 pixels in a 21:9 format. The manufacturer has utilised the modern Tandem WOLED panel from LG Display equipped with an RGB Stripe array. Thanks to this, users are expected to receive clearer text and better sharpness of fine interface elements. The monitor offers a refresh rate of 165 Hz at native resolution. Additionally, a special mode is available that allows for up to 330 Hz when the resolution is reduced to Full HD. Dell emphasises that this is the first 39-inch OLED monitor of its kind on the market. The model also supports Dolby Vision, HDR10, and the DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification. The manufacturer has implemented a DisplayPort 2.1 connection and HDMI 2.1 with VRR support. Compatibility with AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible technologies is also included. The peak brightness is set to reach 1300 nits in HDR materials. Dell has covered the device with a three-year warranty, which also includes protection against OLED burn-in. The monitor is scheduled to be launched in autumn 2026.
The second model features a new QD-OLED panel from Samsung
Alongside the larger monitor, the Alienware AW3426DW has also appeared. This is the successor to the popular model AW3425DW and one of the first monitors to utilise the latest Penta Tandem QD-OLED panel from Samsung Display. The design offers a diagonal of 34 inches and a resolution of 3440 × 1440 pixels. The refresh rate has increased to 280 Hz, making it a very attractive choice for online gamers. According to the published specifications, the monitor achieves a contrast ratio of 1.5 million to one and a response time of just 0.03 ms. The manufacturer claims 99 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space and support for over a billion colours. The model supports Dolby Vision, DisplayHDR True Black 500, as well as FreeSync Premium Pro and G-Sync Compatible technologies. Among the ports, there are two HDMI 2.1 ports, DisplayPort 1.4, and a set of USB ports. Dell has also applied an anti-reflective coating to enhance comfort in bright rooms. Like the larger model, the monitor is covered by a three-year warranty against OLED burn-in. The launch of the AW3426DW is scheduled for July 2026. The prices of both models have not yet been disclosed.
Dell joins the ranks of manufacturers embracing the new generation of OLED panels with RGB Stripe technology. The Alienware AW3926QW and AW3426DW models aim to improve text readability without sacrificing the advantages of OLED, such as perfect black levels and lightning-fast response times. Of particular interest is the first 39-inch 5K2K monitor on the market that utilises this technology. If the manufacturer's announcements are confirmed in tests, this could be one of the most exciting monitor debuts of 2026.
