Bonfire Studios has officially started closed beta testing of its first game, Arkheron. The title has been made available to participants in the Xbox Insider programme on Xbox Series X|S consoles and Windows PCs. The developers stress that the current build is a technical test, so players may encounter bugs and frequent updates. The beta will run until 27 July, and its main aim is to test the servers and gather community feedback. The studio is counting on active player involvement in the game's development. The main game modes and a reward system prepared especially for the testing period were also presented.
Dynamic classless combat and two main game modes
Arkheron is a fast-paced PvP game in which three-player teams compete. Instead of a traditional class system, players develop their characters by acquiring and combining items during a match. Equipment determines playstyle and the role a player fulfils within the team. In the closed beta there is the Spires mode, offering quick 3v3 skirmishes that let you test different loadouts and hone team coordination. The second mode is Ascension, geared towards more competitive play. It pits 15 three-player teams against each other on a larger map as they gather gear and gradually climb to the top of a mysterious tower. Each match culminates in a decisive 3v3 showdown. Ascension will be available only during selected hours at weekends.
Beta offers exclusive rewards and helps developers refine the game
During closed beta tests, players can earn special cosmetic items available only in this development phase. For carrying out various activities, such as opening chests, defeating enemies, completing challenges or climbing the tower, participants receive Pages. The accumulated currency lets players unlock unique items from the Prestige series that will remain tied to the account even after the beta tests end. To take part, you need to join the Xbox Insider programme and download the test build of the game via the Xbox Insider Hub app. Studio Bonfire also encourages providing feedback on the official Arkheron forum. Information from players should help fine-tune the combat system, controls, matchmaking, performance and overall gameplay balance. This will enable the developers to prepare the best possible version of the game ahead of its release.
Arkheron has started closed beta testing and is inviting users of the Xbox Insider programme to take part. The game offers dynamic PvP clashes, an unconventional item-based progression system and the chance to earn exclusive cosmetic rewards. For Bonfire studio, this is an important step in the run-up to the game's full release.
