After many months of speculation, Apple has officially presented Siri AI. The new version of the assistant has been built on the Apple Intelligence technology and is expected to be significantly more advanced than the current Siri. The company promises more natural conversations, better understanding of user needs, and the ability to perform more complex tasks across the entire Apple ecosystem. Siri AI is intended to function not only as a voice assistant but also as an intelligent helper that understands what the user is doing on the screen and what they currently need.
Siri AI understands context and can act between applications
The biggest change is a completely new approach to the assistant's functionality. Siri AI is no longer limited to single commands or simple responses. The system can analyse the user's personal context by using information stored in messages, emails, photos or notes. This allows it to find specific information without the need to manually search through applications. The user will be able to ask about a restaurant recommended by a friend a few weeks earlier or retrieve a reservation number stored in an old message. Siri AI can also understand the content displayed on the screen. If the user receives a message about a meeting or event, the assistant can assist in taking the next steps without switching between applications. Apple also emphasises the ability to perform tasks that involve multiple programmes simultaneously. Siri can prepare an email, create a note, find photos or help organise daily duties. A novelty is also the access to current information from the internet. The assistant can answer questions about events, travel, weather or other topics that require up-to-date data. Overall, it is designed to function more naturally than before, and conversations can continue without the need to constantly repeat the context. Apple aims to make Siri a fully-fledged AI assistant, rather than just a system executing individual commands.
The new Siri app and visual intelligence are changing the way we use Apple devices
Apple has also prepared a completely new Siri app that allows users to store conversation history and synchronise it across devices using iCloud. Users will be able to start a conversation on a Mac and then continue it on an iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch. The company is also developing the Visual Intelligence feature. On the iPhone, Siri can analyse the image from the camera and answer questions about objects in front of the user. In practice, this means the ability to obtain information about products, dishes, or documents simply by pointing the camera at the selected object. Visual intelligence is also coming to Mac, iPad, and Apple Vision Pro. As a result, users can ask questions about elements visible on the screen or in their surrounding environment. Apple has also enhanced writing tools. Siri AI can create message drafts, improve texts, and adjust the tone of speech to the specific recipient. The assistant automatically analyses the user’s communication style and suggests an appropriate tone for messages. At the same time, the company emphasises privacy issues. User data is intended to remain protected thanks to a new architecture of Apple Intelligence that uses local processing and a private cloud computing system. Apple asserts that Siri AI maintains the highest level of data protection while offering capabilities comparable to the most advanced artificial intelligence systems.
Siri AI is the largest overhaul of Apple's assistant since its debut. The new version is designed to better understand the user, analyse screen content, perform tasks between applications, and utilise current knowledge from the internet. Additionally, Apple is introducing a new Siri app, developing Visual Intelligence, and expanding features related to content creation. All signs indicate that Siri AI will become one of the most important elements of the Apple ecosystem in the coming years.
