Apple is preparing one of the biggest updates to its services in years. With the release of new operating systems, users will receive a range of features utilising artificial intelligence that aim to simplify daily use of the company's devices. The changes will include, among others, Apple Maps, Wallet, Apple Cash, Apple Music, Podcasts, iCloud, and the Find service.
Maps and the Find function will become much smarter
One of the biggest innovations will be the improved Apple Maps. The Flyover feature will receive more detailed views of cities generated using a combination of aerial photographs and AI technology. This will allow users to see even more accurate representations of buildings and surroundings when planning trips or exploring new places. There will also be Local Lists, which will suggest restaurants, attractions, or places worth visiting based on anonymous trends and the popularity of specific locations. Significant changes will also come to the Find app. Users will be able to control the sharing of their location much more precisely by setting an exact end time for sharing. Apple has also prepared a new, unified Find app for the Apple Watch, which will combine the existing functions of finding people, devices, and items.
Apple Wallet and Apple Cash will simplify everyday payments
Apple is also significantly developing its financial tools. One of the most interesting features will be the smart bill splitting in Apple Cash. All you need to do is scan a receipt or take a photo of it, and the system will automatically recognise the items and calculate the amounts owed by each person, including taxes and tips. Another new feature will be the ability to create digital versions of loyalty and membership cards directly in Apple Wallet. This way, users will be able to store even more documents and cards in one place. Apple is also developing Apple Pay. The new payment interface is expected to present more useful information, such as loyalty points balance, available instalments, and account status. The Tap to Share function will also be introduced in stores, allowing data needed for purchases to be shared more quickly.
More Changes in Apple Music, Podcasts and iCloud
The autumn updates will also include the remaining Apple services. Video podcasts will be available on Mac computers and devices with tvOS. Apple Music will receive further features for translating song lyrics, improved track mixing, and support for Hi-Res Lossless audio on Apple TV 4K. Meanwhile, iCloud Shared Albums will allow users to upload photos in full quality, support more file types, and enable sharing with those who do not use Apple devices. Apple has also not forgotten sports fans and Fitness+ users. The Apple Sports app will be expanded to more countries, while Fitness+ will be enhanced with a new training programme aimed at women going through menopause.
Apple is focusing on an even deeper integration of artificial intelligence with its services. The autumn updates are set to make using Maps, payments, podcasts, or photo storage more convenient and intuitive. Particularly exciting are the new features in Apple Wallet and intelligent solutions that utilise Apple Intelligence for everyday tasks.
