LG Display has begun mass production of a 24.5-inch Gaming OLED panel with a 720 Hz refresh rate. The new panel was designed primarily with esports players in mind. The manufacturer claims a response time of 0.02 ms.
OLED 720 Hz for e-sports
The new LG Display panel has a 24.5-inch diagonal. Around 24 inches is currently the sweet spot in the world of e-sports, as the manufacturer notes. A smaller screen area is far easier for a player to take in at a glance and doesn't require unnecessary scanning of the display. The panel runs at Full HD 1920 x 1080, and the claimed response time is 0.02 ms. The manufacturer indicates the monitor is intended mainly for racing games and first-person shooters (FPS). However, the most important parameter is the 720 Hz refresh rate, which at first glance can be quite impressive.

The first monitor is already using this panel
LG Display has announced that the new panel has been incorporated into a new ASUS monitor, specifically the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace. It's worth noting that this model has been chosen as the official monitor of the PGL CS2 Major Singapore 2026, the biggest event of the year in the world of Counter-Strike.
It will be expensive
ASUS has set the price for the aforementioned model at €1,149. That makes it clear the monitor with an LG panel is aimed primarily at people for whom esports competition is more than just two matches after Sunday lunch. The release date is still unknown, but the manufacturer has said the monitor should appear before the end of the year.
