007 First Light will utilise enhanced PSSR technology on PlayStation 5 Pro. IO Interactive Studio has revealed details about the new image scaling system developed by Sony Interactive Entertainment.
PS5 Pro is set to provide a distinctly better image
The new version of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, or PSSR, uses machine learning-based technology to enhance the image quality generated at lower resolutions. According to IO Interactive, the effects were noticeable almost immediately. The developers praise, above all, the clearer image, better stability during motion, and significantly reduced flickering of small elements on the screen. The most noticeable differences are expected to be seen with detailed objects such as hair, clothing, vegetation, or scenes full of small details.
The studio also revealed that the implementation of the enhanced PSSR took an exceptionally short amount of time. According to the developers, the new technology was integrated in practically one day and did not require additional manual adjustments of individual scenes or locations. IO Interactive emphasizes that this is a rarely encountered situation when implementing new graphic technologies in large AAA productions.
007 First Light will be one of the flagship titles for PS5 Pro
007 First Light is set to be a new story focused on the beginnings of James Bond's career. The production is being developed for Sony's more powerful hardware and is expected to be one of the most visually advanced games on PS5 Pro.
On other platforms, the game will still utilise FSR 3.1.5 technology, however, it is PS5 Pro that will receive the most advanced version of image scaling prepared by Sony.
007 First Light utilises enhanced PSSR on PS5 Pro. IO Interactive claims that Sony's new technology significantly improves image quality and works exceptionally well even without complex game tuning.
