Microsoft has expanded the Designed for Xbox program with a new collection of accessories aimed at fans of a more relaxed style of gaming. The Designed for Xbox Cozy Collection prioritises a cosy look and a cohesive aesthetic inspired by a pixelated forest, nature and small adventures. The series features products from 8BitDo, SteelSeries and KontrolFreek. Among them are a mechanical keyboard, a mouse, a controller, earbuds and thumbstick caps. The whole collection is now available, and individual items can be bought directly from their manufacturers.
8BitDo has released a keyboard, mouse and controller
One of the main pieces in the collection is the 8BitDo Retro 87 Mechanical Keyboard in the Forest Wonder edition. The keyboard features a dedicated control panel, RGB backlighting and programmable macro keys. It uses tactile Kailh mechanical switches. The set also includes the 8BitDo Retro R8 Mouse in Forest Wonder, styled to match the keyboard so the two form a cohesive setup. The package also contains a dock for charging the mouse. The mouse has four programmable side buttons and is designed for fast, precise handling during gaming. Another device is the 8BitDo Ultimate 3 Controller in the Mossy Lagoon variant. Its colourway is inspired by water, moss and small creatures associated with nature. The controller gets an improved grip, a wireless docking station and adjustable analogue stick resistance. It supports 2.4 GHz wireless and wired connections with Xbox consoles and PCs, and can connect to mobile devices via Bluetooth.
SteelSeries and KontrolFreek complete the set
The second part of the collection is the SteelSeries Arctis GameBuds in Matcha and Yuzu. These are compact in-ear earbuds designed for gaming both at home and on the go. They offer active noise cancellation and quick switching between 2.4 GHz wireless and Bluetooth 5.3. Users also get access to more than 200 audio presets for Xbox and other uses in the Arctis Companion app. The buds also support 360° spatial audio. Total battery life with the case is up to 40 hours, while a single charge provides up to 10 hours of use. The case supports Qi wireless charging. The package is rounded out by IP55-rated water and dust resistance. The final piece of the Cozy Collection is the No-Slip Thumb Grips, Xbox Cozy Edition, from KontrolFreek. They use GripTek material, designed to reduce thumb slippage when using the controller. The grips also feature an ergonomic shape to improve comfort during longer sessions. Their colour scheme blends Matcha and Yuzu tones so they match the rest of the collection.
