Microsoft has started testing another update for Xbox consoles. The new features are currently being rolled out to participants of the Xbox Insider Program and include, among other things, a refreshed console startup screen, new Gamerscore badges, and changes to the game library.
Xbox has a new start screen
One of the biggest changes is the new startup screen for the console. Microsoft has refreshed the startup animation and boot sound, adding more vibrant green themes associated with the Xbox brand.
The company highlights that the new look aims to provide a fresher first impression right from the moment the console is turned on.
Microsoft is also introducing a new badge system linked to the user's total Gamerscore. As players earn new achievements, they will receive evolving badges visible on their profile and in the Xbox Guide.
This change aims to better emphasise the player's achievement history and show the progress made over years of using the Xbox platform.
Game library will become clearer
The update also adds new filters in the game library. Thanks to these, users can more easily check:
which games they own,
which have been shared by other accounts,
which titles they have already lost access to.
Microsoft wants to simplify library management, especially for those using multiple consoles or sharing subscriptions and games across devices.
These features are currently being tested by selected participants of the Xbox Insider program. However, Microsoft announces that the update will gradually reach more users and will later be made available to all Xbox gamers.
Microsoft has started testing a new Xbox update. Players will receive a refreshed home screen, new Gamerscore level badges, and a more streamlined game library.
