Sony Interactive Entertainment has showcased a limited edition DualSense Wireless Controller inspired by the world of James Bond and the upcoming game 007 First Light. The new controller features a gold finish and a distinctive gun barrel motif that immediately brings to mind the 007 series. It's more of a collectible piece than an ordinary controller, but it still offers all the DualSense features, including haptics and adaptive triggers.

The standout feature here is the appearance the golden colour and details referencing the iconic Bond aesthetic give the controller a unique character. The touchpad has been designed to resemble the motif from the opening sequence of the 007 films, which is one of the most recognisable elements of pop culture. Sony is clearly targeting fans of the series and collectors who want something unique on their shelf, rather than just another standard pad.
Premiere alongside the game and limited availability means this is a device that could quickly disappear from stores
The controller will go on sale 27 May alongside the game, and preorders start on 17 April. The price is around 85 dollars and, as is often the case with such editions, availability will be limited. This means that if someone plans to buy it, they'd best hurry, as these types of versions often vanish quickly and later appear on the secondary market at higher prices.
The new DualSense 007 is more about style and a collector's vibe than a technological revolution, but it looks good enough that many fans will be tempted.
