Philips has unveiled the new Evnia 36M4C5500P gaming monitor, which the manufacturer says is the world's first 36-inch gaming screen with a refresh rate of up to 260 Hz. The device offers a curved Fast VA panel, an ultrawide 21:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 3440 × 1440 pixels.
36-inch, 260 Hz and HDR400
The Philips Evnia 36M4C5500P uses a Fast VA panel with a 1500R curvature and a native 240 Hz refresh rate, which can be increased to 260 Hz in OC mode. The manufacturer states a 1 ms GtG response time and 0.3 ms MPRT when using the Smart MBR feature.
The monitor offers a 4000:1 contrast ratio, 95% DCI-P3 coverage and 350 nits brightness in SDR. It is also DisplayHDR 400 certified, with a peak HDR brightness of 500 nits.
HDMI 2.1, RGB and availability
The set-up includes two HDMI 2.1 ports, DisplayPort 1.4 and a headphone output. It's worth noting, however, that at 3440 × 1440 the HDMI ports support a maximum of 100 Hz. To use higher refresh rates you'll need to connect via DisplayPort.
It also features ShadowBoost, Smart Crosshair and Smart Sniper, and the Iconglow illuminated logo on the housing lets you customise the RGB effects.
Philips Evnia 36M4C5500P has been announced for the Asia-Pacific market. Price and release date in Poland remain unknown.
