Samsung is preparing a colourful push. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Flip 8 are expected to surprise with more than just their specs.

Calendar 6/24/2026

Samsung is gearing up to launch the next generation of foldable smartphones, and new details about their appearance have just leaked online. This time it's not about the camera, processor or case thickness, but about something that for many users is equally important: colours and memory options. According to the latest leak, the manufacturer plans an unusually wide range of variants for the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. It's also clear that Samsung wants to further differentiate the character of each device. The Flip is set to remain lighter and more youthful, while the Fold and its Ultra version will aim for a more elegant, premium look.

Galaxy Z Flip 8 is set to be bolder, while the Fold 8 more premium

A leak suggests the Galaxy Z Flip 8 will launch in Cream, Graphite, Mint and Pink. That's a line-up that clearly shows Samsung still wants to position the Flip series as a more stylish, lifestyle-oriented model in its foldable family. In particular, the Mint and Pink shades are meant to emphasise the device's more playful character and attract users who want something less conservative than classic black or beige. It's a different story for the larger models. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected in Cream, Graphite, Lavender and Pistachio, a palette that remains elegant but with a subtle touch of less common accents. Even more interesting is the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, which is slated to come in Cream, Graphite, Green Shadow and Violet Shadow colourways. The names themselves suggest darker, more subdued finishes intended to emphasise the premium character of the most expensive model. In practice, this could mean Samsung wants to more clearly differentiate the styling of each series. The Flip is meant to be a more fashion-forward, lightweight-feeling device, while the Fold and Fold Ultra are intended to resemble premium mobile tools. Cream and Graphite remain common across all models and are most likely to be the standard options in the range. If the leak proves true, Samsung will once again show it wants to compete in the foldable smartphone segment not only with specs but also with style. At a time when many smartphones look almost identical, that kind of variety can make a real difference to customers, especially since we're talking about top-tier devices where looks are often as important as technical capabilities. Samsung seems to understand that perfectly.

There will also be plenty of storage, and model naming is starting to clarify

The leak reveals not only colours but also storage configurations, and Samsung doesn't intend to skimp here either. Galaxy Z Flip 8 is said to be available in 256 GB and 512 GB versions. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra are expected to come in three variants: 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB of internal storage. That's important, because recently some manufacturers have been cutting back on configurations to lower costs related to memory and storage. Samsung has apparently decided, though, that it can't afford too many compromises with its folding flagships, especially as these are positioned as the most advanced phones in the brand's portfolio. The division within the Fold line is also becoming clearer. According to the leak, the larger and more advanced model will indeed launch as the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, rather than under the Fold 8 Wide name that was previously speculated. That could mean Samsung wants to bring its foldables closer to the naming scheme used for the Galaxy S and Galaxy Ultra series. Background reports also point to a launch planned for the second half of July. Earlier leaks suggested the Galaxy Z Flip 8 might get a more useful outer display, though without a big jump in charging speed. The Galaxy Z Fold 8, meanwhile, is said to offer a large, tablet-sized inner display, but it may not get an absolutely top-tier camera setup. For now all of this remains unofficial, but together it's starting to form a more coherent picture of Samsung's push in the foldable smartphone segment this year.

The latest leak suggests Samsung is preparing a very broad lineup for the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. The company is expected to offer a wider choice of colours and higher-capacity storage options, and the foldable range will be even more clearly split into lifestyle and premium models.
