The new “Peaky Blinders” series is coming! Steven Knight teases a continuation that could be even better than the original. Here’s what we know so far!

The universe of “Peaky Blinders” is not going to disappear from the scene. Although the main story of Thomas Shelby has come to an end, Steven Knight – the creator of the legendary series – has just confirmed that the new project not only continues the saga of the Birmingham family but is set to be “potentially better than the original”.

In a conversation with Broadcast, Knight revealed that the new production will be set in the 1950s and will show the next generation of the Shelbys as the city tries to rebuild after the destruction of World War II. – I usually do things according to whether I feel like it. Now I feel it’s time to return to my roots, where it all began – in Birmingham – said Knight, referring to the fact that the series will be produced at the renovated Digbeth Loc Studios.

Birmingham After the War and the New Era of the Shelbys

The action takes place in the year 1953, in a world dominated by concrete, steel, and a brutal race for power over the reconstruction of the city. The official description promises a rivalry of almost mythical proportions, full of betrayals, ambitions, and blood – exactly what fans of "Peaky Blinders" love the most. It is not yet known whether Cillian Murphy will return as Thomas Shelby. However, it is known that the new series will be a continuation of the announced Peaky Blinders film, which is set to premiere on Netflix in 2026.

In the film, we will see, among others, Stephen Graham (Hayden Stagg), Sophie Rundle (Ada Shelby), and Packy Lee (Johnny Dogs). This project will show the fate of the family during World War II – and the new series will take over the baton right after it.

See "Peaky Blinders" the way it should be watched – on the Samsung S95D television

If you're planning to refresh all of "Peaky Blinders" before the premiere of the new series, it's hard to find a better choice than Samsung S95D. It is undoubtedly one of the best home cinema televisions of 2024 – and currently available at great prices on sale.

This model won the prestigious HDTV Shootout in the Best Home Theater TV category, beating the competition thanks to its phenomenal 4K picture quality. This is thanks to the third generation QD-OLED panel, which combines perfect blacks with high brightness and full colour coverage, ideal for stylised films like "Peaky Blinders". The refresh rate of 144 Hz is also useful in dynamic scenes and gaming.

The image is extraordinarily detailed, contrast-rich, and immersive – especially after professional calibration. The only downside might be the absence of Dolby Vision, but Samsung is prioritising HDR10+, which is increasingly appearing on platforms like Netflix and Disney+. If you’re after a cinematic experience in your living room – this is the TV that brings Birmingham straight into your room.
