Paralives wants to challenge The Sims. The creators showcase huge possibilities for building and personalisation.

Calendar 5/22/2026

Paralives is one of the most interesting upcoming life simulator games, which has captured the attention of fans of The Sims series from the beginning. The developers promise significantly greater freedom in building homes and creating characters than in competing productions.

Paralives focuses on extensive personalisation

The game will allow players to create their own characters known as Parafolk, build homes, and manage the daily lives of the heroes in an open world. However, the greatest interest is generated by the elaborate building mode. The creators showcased, among other things, the ability to create curved walls, change the colours of furniture at will, and perform very detailed interior editing. The character personalisation system is also set to be significantly more advanced. The game will feature height sliders, the ability to modify individual body parts, and more realistic physics for hair and clothing.

Paralives is set to allow players to lead various virtual lives in an open city full of events and interactions among residents. The game will also support Steam Workshop, enabling the community to share their own objects and cosmetic additions. At this moment, the creators do not plan to support more advanced mods that change gameplay or a multiplayer mode.

Small studio, but huge interest

The project is backed by a small team led by Alex Massé, who previously worked on PewDiePie’s Tuber Simulator among other projects. Despite the small scale of the project, Paralives has gained immense popularity among life simulator fans, and the game's Patreon account saw significant growth after the first gameplay materials were presented. Paralives is currently being developed exclusively for PC and Mac through the Steam platform. The creators do not plan to release console or mobile versions. The game still does not have an official release date, but it is already high on the wish lists of many players waiting for an alternative to The Sims.

Paralives wants to offer much greater freedom in building and personalisation than competing life simulators. The game from a small studio is gaining increasing interest from fans of The Sims and life simulators.
