OLED is becoming increasingly common on gamers' desks, and forecasts suggest this is just the start of much greater growth. According to UBI Research, shipments of OLED panels for monitors are expected to rise from around 5.17 million in 2026 to 7.43 million in 2027. That would be about a 44% increase in just one year.

Behind this result are mainly Samsung Display and LG Display, developing the QD-OLED and WOLED technologies, respectively. UBI Research predicts Samsung’s shipments will rise from about 3.74 million to 5.08 million panels, while LG’s will increase from 1.43 million to 2.35 million. Samsung would thus retain the advantage in scale, but LG would be growing that part of the business faster in percentage terms. These are forecasts of panel shipments only, not the number of monitors bought by customers.

In the longer term the numbers are even more impressive. By 2030 analysts expect around 16.73 million OLED panels for monitors — more than three times the forecast for 2026. For buyers, such market development could mean a wider choice of screen sizes, specs and designs. A larger production scale also offers hope of more affordable prices, though the report itself does not indicate when or by how much monitors might become cheaper.
