Modern technologies are increasingly finding their way not only into watches and sportswear, but also into everyday footwear. The latest example is the Nike Air Zoom Hyperslide, developed in collaboration with Hyperice. The maker has equipped them with a heating system and a vibrating foot massage function. The product was created primarily with athletes in mind, but is also intended for everyday use. According to Nike, the slides can help with recovery after training, travel or many hours spent on your feet. They will go on sale this autumn.

Air Zoom Hyperslide focuses on recovery rather than classic comfort

Nike Air Zoom Hyperslide are slides designed primarily to aid the body's recovery. Comfort comes from the low-profile Air Zoom cushioning, while the recovery technology was developed by Hyperice. A special module is embedded in the slide's strap that warms the top of the foot and at the same time produces gentle vibrations. According to the manufacturer, the solution is intended to help loosen tight muscles and reduce feelings of fatigue after exertion. This is the second product resulting from the collaboration between Nike and Hyperice, following last year's Hyperboot model. Both companies are increasingly investing in technologies that support athlete recovery. The new slides are intended to perform well both after intense training and after hours of walking or travelling. Nike emphasises that the recovery process should begin immediately after finishing physical activity. It was with this in mind that the new Air Zoom Hyperslide was developed. The manufacturer hopes these kinds of solutions will become part of many users' daily routines. Recovery should be as important as training itself. This shows the growing importance of wellness technology in the world of sport.

Heating, massage and a mobile app in one product

The Hyperice module used in the slides is magnetic and can be removed if needed. The user has three heat levels and three vibration intensity settings. The maximum operating temperature is around 47 degrees Celsius. Each recovery session lasts 15 minutes. All functions can be controlled directly from the module or via the Hyperice app. According to Nike representatives, the aim of the project was to create a product that starts the recovery process from the moment it is switched on. Footballer Virgil van Dijk, who works with Nike, emphasises that combining Air Zoom cushioning with Hyperice technology improves the comfort of his feet. Sales of the Nike Air Zoom Hyperslide will begin on 29 September. The product will be available on Nike's website, in the Hyperice store and from selected retail partners worldwide. The manufacturer has not yet revealed the official price of the new model. If the solution proves popular with customers, similar technologies could be introduced to other shoe models in the future.
