The studio has officially confirmed the start of its partnership with Movies Anywhere and the gradual transfer of its library to the service. The first wave will include 225 productions. Among them will be hits like John Wick, The Hunger Games, Kill Bill, Django, La La Land, Illusion, and Rambo. This means that users will be able to sync these films across platforms such as Apple TV, Amazon, and Fandango. However, the process will not end with the first batch. Lionsgate plans to add about 100 additional films each month until early 2027. This will ensure that the offer continues to grow systematically. The first new title debuting alongside the integration will be the film Michael, which will automatically appear in Movies Anywhere after its home distribution premiere. For many users, this means significantly more convenient management of their digital collections.
What is Movies Anywhere and why is it an important service
Movies Anywhere operates on relatively simple principles. Users connect their accounts across various digital stores, and the purchased films end up in one shared library. It doesn't matter whether the production was bought on Apple TV, Amazon, or another supported service. The film becomes available on all connected services. Despite its success, the service remains limited to the American market. It is currently used by about 14.5 million users. So far, there have been no reports suggesting international expansion. Paramount Pictures and Amazon-owned MGM remain outside the project.
