Microsoft has published another roundup of releases for users of the Xbox ecosystem. In the last week of July several dozen new titles representing almost every genre will go on sale and be added to the Game Pass service. The biggest star of the list remains Halo: Campaign Evolved, a remastered version of the cult classic Halo: Combat Evolved campaign. There will also be new RPGs, strategy games, horror titles and indie releases. Some titles will be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one. It's one of the most diverse weeks on the Xbox release calendar in recent months.
Halo returns, and Game Pass picks up more new releases
The most important release of the week is undoubtedly Halo: Campaign Evolved, which launches on 28 July for Xbox Series X|S and PC. The title refreshes the campaign of the iconic Halo: Combat Evolved, offering updated visuals, improved controls and additional missions that show events leading up to the main story. The game will also arrive in the Xbox Game Pass library on day one. A day later Mistfall Hunter joins the service, a dark action game with extraction and roguelite elements set in a fantasy world. Among the bigger releases worth noting is Dispatch from the creators of Tales from the Borderlands and The Wolf Among Us, which opts for a humorous take on a superhero tale. Fans of classic RPGs will also get Gothic Classic, a return of the legendary game adapted for modern Xbox consoles. Game Pass will also be boosted by the strategy Corsair Cove, which lets you build a pirate town and run your own fleet. That gives subscribers several major releases within just a few days. Microsoft is again favouring simultaneous debuts of selected games on the service. The offering includes both big-budget titles and ambitious indie projects. The coming week could be especially attractive for regular Xbox Game Pass users. It’s also a good chance to catch up on several completely new franchises. Microsoft is clearly showing that the second half of the year looks set to be very busy.
Strategy games, horror and indie titles will fill the end of July
Apart from the biggest releases, players will get access to many smaller but varied titles. Among them are The King Is Watching, Forever Skies, PAW Patrol: Dino World and Zombie Graveyard Simulator. Horror fans can pick up Nightmare Shift, Angel Engine or The Green Light. Puzzle fans will get Railway Routes, Sizeable and Case Solved: The London Files. There will also be action shooters such as Kusan: City of Wolves, HARDWIRED: Ghost In The Reset and Truxton Extreme. The schedule also includes platformers, simulators and titles focused on relaxing gameplay. Some games will support Xbox Play Anywhere and Smart Delivery, allowing progress to be transferred between devices. Many new games have been optimised for Xbox Series X|S. Players on PC will also find several releases available simultaneously on PC. Microsoft continues its strategy of regularly expanding its catalogue with indie titles alongside major releases, so every platform user should find something to suit their tastes. The end of July looks set to be especially rich for the entire Xbox ecosystem.
The last week of July will bring dozens of new games to Xbox players. The biggest event will be the release of Halo: Campaign Evolved, but the rich lineup will also include many titles available on Xbox Game Pass from day one and numerous indie games covering a range of genres.
