The Hisense XR10 is a projector that stands out not only for its picture quality but also for its unusual design. A triple RGB laser and a claimed brightness of 6000 ANSI lumens are just the beginning. We’ve put together five interesting facts about the device, which we’ve already had the chance to thoroughly test on Choose.tv.
1. A case worthy of a luxury brand
Even the XR10's packaging impresses. Instead of plain cardboard, you get an elegant transport case that calls to mind the luggage of luxury brands like Louis Vuitton. Its colour scheme even references LV. It has a leather finish, metal fittings, wheels and a comfortable handle. It's not just for show; it lets you store and transport the projector safely and comfortably. So we get a blend of aesthetics and functionality.
2. Camera-inspired projector
Hisense opted for a retro aesthetic. A large, round lens, brown metal housing and distinctive dials make the XR10 look more like a classic camera than a projector. It was inspired in part by iconic medium-format cameras.
3. Liquid cooling
This is perhaps the most interesting feature of the XR10. Rather than relying solely on traditional air cooling, the projector uses a closed-loop liquid cooling system. The solution allows more effective dissipation of heat generated by the powerful RGB lasers and reduces noise. During our test the projector ran quietly in standard modes, even at high brightness.
4. It can be mounted on a tripod like an old camera
A special three-legged tripod made of walnut and aluminium has also been made for the XR10. Once fitted, the projector resembles vintage film cameras set on tall tripods. The whole setup looks very elegant and could serve as a decorative feature in the living room. The tripod is an optional accessory that can be purchased separately.
5. Sound developed in collaboration with luxury brand Devialet
The XR10's audio is handled by a system tuned in collaboration with the French company Devialet, known for making very expensive high-end speakers. The projector houses two 8 W speakers and a 15 W subwoofer. In our tests the setup pleasantly surprised with its bass and volume, allowing comfortable viewing of films without external speakers.
So how does the Hisense XR10 perform in practice?
Unusual looks and interesting design solutions are one thing, but the most important aspect remains image quality. At ChooseTV we thoroughly checked brightness, contrast, colours, gaming features and the projector's home theatre capabilities.
